A Fresh Start Part 6
After the group
finished eating and disbanded, Feo walked through the central park toward the
academy.
Although the school
was quiet on a holiday, the corridors were filled with instructors doing office
work, and students training on their own could be seen in the training halls
through the windows.
In the midst of all
this, Feo headed for a large room in the instructor's building.
It was the office of
the school's headmaster.
When he knocked and
entered the room, he found Jihad, the master of the room, his assistant Inda,
and Anri, Nozomu's class homeroom teacher, in a discussion.
"So~~. Will you
accept our proposal about the upcoming joint class~~?"
"Sure. Indeed,
there is no better way to find out who he is. We have already notified all the
parties and made arrangements for them to move. Inda-sensei, what about the
other person on our watch list?"
"He has been
coming to the academy. However, he has not taken any action noteworthy. Ah,
here you are, Feo Risitsa. You are late."
"Sorry. I was
having lunch with Nozomu."
When Feo mentioned
Nozomu's name, Jihad and Inda's eyes naturally narrowed.
Feo is one of the
informants of the city's intelligence organization, the Starlight. After the
defeat of the [Cracked-Crown] Giant Centipede, he and Anri had reported to them
that Nozomu was a Dragon Slayer.
They were wary of
Nozomu Bountis. No, it was more like they were trying to discern. For this
reason, they had Feo report regularly about Nozomu's situation.
It would be impossible
not to be concerned about a Dragon Slayer, who had not appeared in several
hundred years.
"So I heard you
were talking about Nozomu, have you decided what you're going to do with
him?"
"Hmm. As
suggested by Anri-sensei, we have decided to assess him in the upcoming joint
class."
When Feo looked at
Anri, she smiled at him and gave a small nod.
Feo cast a jittery
glance at her. To him, Anri was actually the one who had dragged him into this
troublesome situation, so he had a bit of a bad feeling about her.
"Ah, right. What
about Ken Notice? Are you going to summon him and question him? Concealing
abilities is against the school's rules, isn't it?"
"It is indeed a
problem, but more than that, his potentials are too valuable. Besides, the
school's management will probably only give him a stern warning."
Abilities, which are
special powers possessed by individuals, are naturally obligated to be informed
to the academy.
However, on the other
hand, there were only very few among the students at Solminati Academy who had
manifested abilities that could not be easily discarded.
Especially if it was
the ability to make a contract with a spirit, something that ordinary humans
would never be able to manifest.
"But you can't
compare him to a Dragon Slayer...... -wait, that's not it."
"Right. If Ken
Notice's abilities were to be made public, it would inevitably draw attention
to Nozomu Bountis as well. As a result, there is a possibility that people will
find out about him being a Dragon Slayer, and thus, the whole thing will become
like a hot potato."
