[WN] Three Skills : Volume 1 Chapter 65

Volume 1

Chapter 65

The Zombie Boss Has Appeared

Translator : PolterGlast

A monster suddenly appeared. It had only an upper body, wrapped in a tattered black robe. And to top it off, that upper body was nothing but bones, a thorough display of its abnormality. It peered out with crimson lights from its twin eyes, and a purple aura, or something like it, was visible all over its body.

Except for the fact that it was floating and had no lower body, its appearance was not so different from the other Robs───but this one was clearly different from the other individuals.

Every cell in my body seemed to deny its existence, and an unusually strong sense of intimidation made me break out in a cold sweat.

This is bad.

"Do you have any idea how many years I spent planning this!? Everything was going smoothly! And then, you... you...!!! Who are you, you bastard!!!?"

It appeared out of nowhere and seemed quite angry. Well, even if it asked me who I am...

"Well... I'm just a human."

"Don't lie to me! You can't possibly be just a human! How dare you make such jokes in front of me... How dare you... how dare you...!"

How should I put it... It's like he's struggling with how to vent his emotions. Well, I've never felt such emotions, so I don't actually know if that's really the case.

"Just killing you is not enough! Even if I were to melt all your skin, strip away your flesh, and drag out every organ, my rage wouldn't subside! You've committed such a heinous crime!"

Hey, what you're saying is creepy.

"You have angered me! For your crime, your recklessness, you shall atone in the underworld!"

The monster in front of me thrusts out its right hand.

───Instantly, a black, fluid-like substance poured out from the ground directly beneath me, trying to swallow me up.

Hadira's POV

The shadow of death I created completely swallowed the man.

This is different from the one that swallowed Tekiru. The shadow-colored liquid envelops the target, and it is merely corrosive at first, but after melting the target's skin to a certain extent, it loses its corrosiveness and becomes a flexible solid that begins to crush both the muscles and bones into pieces.

Look, right now, the shadow that has swallowed the man and taken the shape of a bag is stretching and shrinking, crushing the man. I can hear the bones and muscles being destroyed inside.

But it doesn't end there. The shadow then swirls out of the bag shape like wind and turns into a tornado, grinding the contents and completely destroying its original form. In the end, only a powdery substance remains.

Even then, my anger is not appeased. Where should I vent this anger to?

While thinking about it, the shadow swirled and began to grind the man.

Eventually, the man would be reduced to nothing but powder and exposed to the light of day.

The shadow dissipated after fulfilling its role. As I expected, only white powder, which must be bone dust, remained.

The blood and other things have probably been taken away by the shadow.

But, there was one unexpected thing───the ring the man had been wearing remained completely undamaged.

What's with that ring? Why is it intact?

Usually, I would be intrigued and would reach for the ring, but───

Hmph, well, whatever. The owner is dead anyway. It won't have any effect anymore.

My mind was filled with anger, and my interest didn't outweigh that anger, so I scratched my head at the trouble I had to take in dealing with the people of the town myself.

Argh... Why does this happen? ...Damn it! In that case... I'll let out all this anger on the people of the town!!

I turned my back on the man and started going towards the town.

"───!!"

But, I suddenly felt a chill down my spine and reflexively turned around.

"W-What...?"

There was only the powder of what used to be a man───or so I thought! Before I knew it, a dark red mist and a deep crimson liquid were heading towards it, swirling as they enveloped the powder.

It was as if it were the sign of something appearing... no, it was more like... could it be a sign of regeneration!?

My guess was right.

The mist, liquid, and powder swirled around for a while, and then, as if they knew where to go, began to move, and the man's hands, toes, arms, legs, torso, neck, and head were being regenerated in the order of bone, muscle, and skin.

For some reason, the ring was also caught up in the regeneration───and there, standing as if nothing had happened, was a naked man.

The man opened his eyelids and looked into my eyes.

"I-Impossible...!"

Those were the only words that came out of my mouth when I saw something so far beyond the laws of the world.

That's right───that's impossible.

Even I, who rules over death and grants death, cannot achieve complete regeneration from death.

Even though it is taboo to research it, even if I did research it, I would not understand anything. The information is so complex, with so many interactions, that it is impossible to analyze.

Even I would give up on that.

And yet... this man...!

"Ahahaha..."

The man smiled.

"Good, let's do it."

He looked at me with mad eyes and said so with a truly joyful expression.
