Episode 110: Anna Jushichiya(Kanou)'s
Impatience
『----I
apologize for making a sudden appearance like this.』
In
the square screen of the laptop, a beautiful white girl bowed her head.
『However,
while this may seem sudden to you, the viewers of this video, to 'us', this
actually became known at least two months ago.』
The
woman with white hair, clothes, and complexion, but with a mysterious glint in
her only red eyes, the woman known as the 'Saintess' continued,
『Initially,
we thought it should be left to the right people. That way, there would be less
social confusion, and the announcement would be made at the most opportune
time......』
She
cast down her eyes slightly…
『But
no matter how long we waited, that time never came, and after two months
passed, we had to make a decision. ...If this continues, tragedy could come
before the announcement. Even if it will cause chaos in society, people should
be given time to prepare.』
The
Saintess had a sorrowful expression on her face, and uttered these words as if
in pleading,
『Suddenly
saying something like this may not be immediately believed. Due to our past
mistakes, some people may not believe in the Star Mother Association itself.
But please believe this one thing ---- that this Kudan’s prophecy is true...』
There,
Anna stopped playing the video and sighingly mouthed,
"This
is bad..."
It
was the morning after the early announcement by the Star Mother Association.
We,
the members of the Adventurers' Club, gathered in the club room before class
for an emergency meeting.
The
topic of discussion was, of course, the announcement by the Star Mother
Association and its possible repercussions for the future.
Regarding
the repercussions, they had already emerged.
As
of yesterday on my way home, there were long lines of people at the Guild
demanding to know the truth of the prophecy and to buy cards, and supermarkets
and drugstores were running out of food, medicine, and other supplies. Somehow,
even masks and toilet paper disappeared from store shelves.
The
government was also bombarded with inquiries, and the hastily prepared
dedicated website went down within a few minutes.
In
response to the criticism of the government, which was growing by the second,
an emergency press conference was held by the Japanese Prime Minister to
announce Kudan's prophecy officially. Still, there was no concrete explanation
for why it had been concealed, and the firestorm was further exacerbated.
On
my way out this morning, I saw news programs in which commentators with high
and mighty titles were criticizing and berating the government as if they were
their worst enemy.
"What's
bad is that the government's credibility has been shattered by this. After all,
they have been covering up Kudan's prophecy for more than two months.
...Depending on the foolishness of the politicians, they may even demand the
resignation of the Prime Minister.”
"......No
matter what, that won't happen.”
In
this situation where every minute counts, what would be the benefit of
replacing the PM?
It
was not as if we were choosing the prime minister from the most incompetent
people. Even I, an average person in this field of politics, can see that
dragging each other down in this time of crisis will do a hundred harms and not
a single good.
"If
Japan is destroyed, winning the seat in the next election will mean
nothing...,”
I
laughed, but Anna shook her head with a somber expression on her face.
"That
is not certain. If they intend to continue playing politics inside the shelter,
there might be some fools who think of something like that... to pull their
rivals' legs while they still can.”
"............”
How
much better it would be if I could have denied with my chest out, saying “There's
no way there are such idiots here......"
“That
Star Mother Association, saying something unnecessary... Though I can't really
say that.”
As
Oribe said, the government moved too slowly about the prophecy, making the Star
Mother Association go ahead of them.
Like
us, those who knew about the prophecy were quite impatient. Even if the Star
Mother Association hadn't disclosed it, someone else would have revealed it
sooner or later.
If the
government had at least given a good reason, it wouldn't have caused such a big
fuss...
It
was Teacher who answered my mumbling question,
"I
think diplomacy is probably involved."
"Diplomacy? ...... I see.."
Looking
at the market price of the cards, it was highly likely that Kudan's prophecy
appeared not only in Japan but also in other countries around the world.
In
other words, it was not only Japan that covered up Kudan's prophecy.
Behind
the scenes, there was probably a coordinated worldwide effort to counteract Angolmois,
but that couldn’t be said straightforwardly.
Perhaps
by the end of today, the nations of the world, led by the United States, would
announce Kudan's prophecy.
While
thanking Japan for taking on the mud.......
"So,
what should we do now?"
Teacher
asked.
Yes,
that's the important thing.
The
reason why the announcement was delayed so long bothered me, but what was more
important was what we had to do to survive.
"......
Although the announcement came from an unexpected direction, in the end, it
doesn't change what we're doing. Fortunately, we’ve already gathered most of
the food and other supplies, so from now on we’ll focus on cards and magic
items.”
"What
about Garnets?”
Will
Carbuncle Garnet no longer be a source of funds from now on?
To
Oribe's question, Anna answered without delay,
"Oh,
don't worry about that. We already have a contract in place for the sale of the
Garnets, so at least until Angolmois starts, we can sell them at the same
market price as before."
"Hmm?
I see..."
Oribe
looked a little suspicious, but nodded without saying anything further.
I
didn't want to be asked too much about this, so I secretly sighed in relief.
"More
importantly, I'm sure you'll all be questioned about Kudan's prophecy by your
classmates after this ......."
“We know. Just act like we
didn't know about it, right?"
We
all nodded our heads, “Don't tell anyone."
"Yes.
...You can say that you've heard such rumors, but please avoid the question by
saying something like you never thought it was true. Just brush it off
casually. Absolutely, keep it a secret that you knew about the prophecy.”
"Hmm...
What should we do if our classmates say they want to join the Adventurers'
Club?"
"...Right.
I'm sure there would be a flood of people wanting to join the club after
school, right?”
"That's
----”
Just
when Anna was about to answer, the chime rang.
"It's
that time already, huh? If anyone asks about joining the Adventurers’ Club,
please tell them to ask the Club President. See you after school."
With
that, the morning meeting was dismissed.
After
that, things were tough.
As
expected, our classmates... no, even students from other classes flocked to us,
the members of the Adventurers' Club.
Ignoring
morning HR (homeroom) and our homeroom teacher, Hiyori-chan, there was a
barrage of questions.
"Is
what the Star Mother Association announced true?" “Does the prophecy mean Angolmois?”
“What should we do when Angolmois comes?”
Naturally,
among those questions was, "Did you know about the prophecy
beforehand?"
I
couldn't even find a chance to go to the restroom with all these questioners
bombarding me every recess, and if Ono hadn't casually helped me, I would have
either said something stupid or peed my pants.
When
we somehow made it to the end of the school day, what awaited us was a huge
crowd of people wanting to join the club.
The
number of applicants exceeded a hundred, and naturally, many of them did not
have licenses or a D-rank card.
It
was clear that their purpose was not to become adventurers, but to seek our
protection and strength during Angolmois.
But
Anna declared that this time she would not turn them away at the door, but
would interview them all.
Many
students saw an opportunity in this change of direction by her, who had
previously turned people away even if they were license holders, and a long
line of people queued in front of the club room every day.
With
such a situation, there was naturally no time for her to do dungeon diving.
Thus, during that time, the dungeon attacks were conducted without Anna.
Now
that the prophecy was widely known, we would face a backlash if we turned people
away immediately, as we had done in the past. It was necessary to do a series
of interviews, even if only as a formality, from which we could pick out only
those who looked promising... We had no complaints at this point."
A
week later.
We
were concentrating on the dungeon attacks when we noticed that the Adventurers'
Club, which previously had only four members, had swelled to a total of sixty.
"Hee~
…Senpai, why don't you take a look at this news? The government has decided to
distribute one E-rank card and five F-rank cards to every citizen. The world
seems to be changing rapidly."
".........................”
Anna
smiled and showed me the news page on her phone, to which I replied with
silence, my brows furrowed.
"Huh?
Are you in a bad mood?"
Anna,
seeing my obvious mood, tilted her head cutely.
I
said to her,
"You've
been a little too pushy lately."
I
was now alone with her in the club room.
As
vice president, I had some concerns about Anna's recent behavior, so I asked
Oribe and Teacher to go back first so that we could have some time to talk
alone.
Anna
thought for a moment about my words before replying,
“Mmm...is this about the loan
of the cards?”
I
nodded silently, and Anna scratched her cheek, looking somewhat troubled.
"Uh,
but didn't I tell you in advance, Senpai? And you said it was okay...”
Indeed,
I was the only one who was informed in advance by Anna.
She
said the number of members might increase quite a bit.
I
also answered that I understood.
However...
“Even so, it is too much to
accept more than half of the applicants who want to join the club."
What
I assumed was that we would start by accepting about a dozen or so promising applicants,
mainly license holders, as the 2nd force, and increase the number beyond that
in stages.
I
had not expected such a large number of people at once.
"Moreover,
you even lent out cards......"
Of
the new members, only about 10 had licenses. The remaining fifty or so had
neither cards nor money. Anna lent them her D-rank cards, which she kept in the
Adventurers' Club, and she even paid their adventurer registration fees.
The
D-rank cards kept by the club were shared property, and the other members of
the club expressed some concern about lending them to people they did not know
well. However, Anna pushed through by purchasing all the D-rank cards from the
club.
Since
Anna lent out her own property, we had no reason to complain, but this rapid
expansion of force raised eyebrows not only from Oribe, who was originally reserved
in nature, but even from Teacher.
Anna's
ambition to create her own power was so blatant.
However,
my problem was neither the rapid increase in the number of members nor Anna's
ambition. It was about the rift that had developed between Anna and the other
core members in the face of Angolmois.
So,
I asked the other two to leave first and face her as the vice president to
express my protest, or rather, to check up on her.
"Nn-
ah... I'm sorry! It seems there was a slight misunderstanding. But for now, can
I ask you to listen to my thoughts?”
"Yeah."
"Thank
you very much. ...We, have succeeded in gathering a substantial force thanks to
our efforts over the past two months and, above all, thanks to Senpai. We can
probably defend this base with ease until the second phase by ourselves. But do
you know what we are lacking the most?"
What
we are lacking the most?
If
it is simply something we lacked, I would say we lacked everything, but what is
the thing we lack the most......?
"...Is
it, time?"
I
answered, and Anna laughed.
"That's
true, that's also something we're lacking. Though, the answer is summoning
slots."
I
see. ...I was suddenly enlightened.
Except
for the one thing we can't obtain no matter how hard we try, that's certainly
the thing we lack the most.
The
summoning slots during Angolmois were twelve cards, regardless of phase. This
was the same as in an A-ranked dungeon.
This
would mean that until the third phase, adventurers would be able to fight in a
more favorable situation than in the dungeon, but the twelve summoning slots
would be too few when it came to protecting civilians.
Even
if I were to fill all of my summoning slots with B-rank cards, would I be able
to protect everyone at school by myself? That would definitely be impossible.
The
same would be true even if I had cards possessing the [Trinity Deity] and
subordinate summoning skills. As long as there was a limitation in the number
of cards that could be summoned, there would inevitably be a limit to what one
person could do.
The
quickest and lowest-cost solution to this problem was, of course, to increase
the number of summoning slots, i.e., manpower.
The
best thing about this method would be that the manpower could be put directly
into the defense force.
While
reducing the risk of injury to the defense personnel, you can increase the battle
force. Two birds with one stone.
The
problem is...
"What
about stealing and deserting in the face of the enemy? And what about the risk
of going out of control?"
The
question was whether the personnel can be trusted.
Just
because you lend them a card doesn't mean they'll follow through. In the worst-case
scenario, there will be people who, having gained the power of the card, will
grow arrogant and mistreat the people they are supposed to be protecting.
No,
there will definitely be such people.
“For
the former, I intend to assess them from now on until Angolmois happens. We'll
weed out anyone who's obviously going to run off with their card at the
interview, and we'll confiscate the cards of any cowards. I also wrote that in
the contract. As for running out of control, please take a look at this.”
With
these words, Anna presented a list of new club members.
It
was a simple list that only contained name, grade, gender, and the card that
had been lent out, but when I saw it, I immediately noticed something.
"...There
are a lot of women."
In
fact, about two-thirds of the list were women.
“Regarding
the new members, I've decided to prioritize women. I think this will at least
prevent sexual misconduct to some extent. With the women's watchful eyes, there
will be fewer men who do stupid things, and, well, if push comes to shove,
we'll just dispose of them.”
Dispose
of them... That's not a form of extreme punishment, is it, Anna-san1?
Uh,
well, this will at least help reduce some misconduct. On the other hand, I'm
worried that it will create a trend toward female chauvinism… but I'm sure
we'll be able to manage that.
Anyway...
“Aside from Ono, I see that
Ichijo-san has also joined the club… as well as Higashino, Nishida, and
Shinto.”
At
the top of the list were the names of people I knew well.
I
was not that surprised about Ichijo-san, but I was a little surprised about the
East-West duo and Shinto because I had not heard from them.
"For
Senpai's acquaintances, I gave them an almost unconditional pass. I'm going to
use good cards for the rentals too."
It
seemed that I had made her give them special treatment...
"What
are these marks next to the names?”
Among
the list, there were some with no mark, some with a circle, and some with a small character2 inside the circle.
"Oh, that's for licenses.
The ones with small character are those who became adventurers with cards
rented from Ono-san."
"Hmm, I see... it's the
Ono Faction."
Looking
at the list, it appeared that the Ono Faction accounted for about half of the
license holders.
The
total number of adventurers in the school was originally about a dozen or so,
which implied that more than half of the original license holders did not join
the Adventurers' Club.
"What
kind of a way did you... turn ‘them’ away?"
"Hey,
it's not my fault. I just refused in a normal way so as not to hurt the other
party's pride. They're just checking on us now, aren't they?"
Since
even people without cards can join, they probably think that license holders
would be welcomed with open arms.
…It
pains me to say it, but they're completely out of touch with what's happening.
Ironically,
this is the only period when having a license actually gives you an advantage.
"Hmm,
I understand your thinking, Anna. I agree with you that we need extra summoning
slots."
Many
F and E-rank cards had useful skills. For example, Brownie and Silky are cards
that shine more in everyday life than in conquering dungeons. Even if they're
not particularly useful in battle, they'll make life at the shelter more
comfortable.
I
also thought it was a concern that a small select group couldn't utilize those
cards effectively.
“But next time, please consult
with everyone properly. They'll understand if you just explain why you're doing
it."
“You're... right. I was a
little, or maybe quite, impatient."
"Impatient? I see......"
Certainly,
we can understand Anna's impatience.
The
initial expectation was that the government would make an announcement in about
a month, but then it became two months. Moreover, the revelation came from a
different direction.
Originally,
the plan was to increase the number of members in stages while communicating
internally among the club members, but the plan had to be accelerated, and as a
result, things appeared too hasty.
That
was my impression, but it seemed that the reason for Anna's impatience wasn't
just a matter of time...
"When
I think about why the government's announcement was delayed for so long, I
can't help but..."
"............"
The
government, huh?
Indeed,
one can't help but feel uneasy about the government's actions.
Even
now, a week later, they remain silent on the reason for the delay.
I
even suspect that if it weren't for the Star Mother Association's announcement,
they would have remained quiet and planned to keep it a secret until someone
revealed it to the public.
And
it wasn't just Japan; the whole world was involved. The fact that there was
such close cooperation between countries that could hardly be described as
friendly with each other was nothing short of eerie.
With
the country becoming less and less dependable, the post-Angolmois future, which
was already uncertain, became even more difficult to predict.
That
impatience was in me, or rather, in the entire population.
......Perhaps
this act, which could be called Anna's outburst, was not a simple expansion of
power. Rather, she just wanted to give as many students as possible the ability
to defend themselves, at the very least.
If
you're thinking about building power, controlling the whole with a small group
is the most efficient and risk-free way. Distributing cards like this was
actually counter to her goal of gaining power.
Prioritizing
women over men further proves that she was more concerned with defense rather
than power.
This
may be Anna's interpretation of what I said at the meeting—that family and
friends come first, and everyone at school if we can manage…
Also,
I realized something this time.
Anna
seemed to have a habit of neglecting 'report, communicate, and consult' (hourensou3). Maybe because she's so quick-witted
and proactive, she tends to just rush ahead...
No,
maybe she does report and consult, to some extent. She just leaves a lot of
room for individual judgment.
Well,
I'm also at fault because I gave the OK sign without asking enough.
I
still don't have a clear idea of what the 'true leader' she spoke of should be,
but as vice president, I should have asked more in-depth.
Anna
was wrong, and so was I.
Well,
Anna and I are just high school students after all. We've never been out in the
real world, and we're just imitating the management of an organization, so it's
not surprising that we're both a bit of a mess.
We can
both continue to grow from now on.
...If
there is time, that is.
.
"By
the way, I have a favor to ask of you, Senpai..."
"Nn?
What is it?"
Considering
I jumped right into scolding her, even though I'm not perfect myself, I figured
I'd hear her out if it was a minor request.
When
I replied like that, Anna said as casually as if she were asking me to run an
errand to the convenience store,
"Can
I ask you to take the four-star promotion test?”
"Ha?"
I
was taken aback by the sudden subject.
"Four-star...?"
If
it were that easy, I wouldn't have such a hard time.
"Is
there any benefit to becoming a four-star now ......?"
"Well,
true..,”
Anna
sighed.
"Actually,
it seems that Kannadzuki-Senpai might leave for a little while..."
"What?!
...That's bad."
"It's
bad. Like, really bad. When I first heard it, I was so shocked I thought I was
going to make a goofy face and do a double peace sign."
"What
kind of reaction is that?"
But
in fact, it's bad. So bad, in fact, that my vocabulary had become so poor that
I could come up with nothing but 'bad'.
After
all, if Teacher left, of course we won't be able to enter the C-rank dungeon.
Our future plans would also be severely disrupted.
"Uh,
what's the reason?"
"He
couldn't say, or rather, he didn't know. He had been informed that someone he
can't ignore may require his assistance..."
"For
real....?"
If it
is someone that Teacher can't ignore, is it related to his older sister?
When
facing Angolmois, some might ignore obligations, others might try to settle
debts before it happens. Teacher, though, he's definitely the kind who'd settle
things first...
That
was precisely why we trusted him and entrusted him with Ares, because he's that
kind of person.
"When
and for how long?”
“U-n,
for 'when', it's in a month at the earliest. As for 'how long', he's a little
unsure. ...He said he'll join us as soon as Angolmois starts."
Will
he really be able to come back? Will he even come back...?
“In a
month, huh......?”
"That's
why, I thought if Senpai could get a four-star by then..."
"Mmm,
I get it."
But...
I said, feeling apologetic,
"Frankly,
that’s tough..."
"...Right,
I guess so."
"Yeah.
I can manage the practical part, but the written one is..."
I
had been studying for the written exam too, but it was much more difficult than
I expected.
On
average, you need about 500 hours of study to pass the four-star written exam.
That's about as hard as getting certified as a real estate agent.
It
would be okay if it was just the practical skills examination, but when it
included the written exam, it would be tough... or even impossible for me.
However,
Anna tilted her head blankly and said,
“Hmmm? Are you that confident about
the practical exam?"
''Ah
...... well, I think I can probably manage."
While
diving into our school's dungeon, which was far more difficult than a normal
C-rank dungeon, I felt like I'd grown as an adventurer to some extent.
With
my current abilities and Renge's powered-up abilities, it shouldn't be
impossible for me to solo conquer a C-rank dungeon.
Hearing
my answer, Anna clapped her hands joyfully.
"O~o! Then, you can do it! I already passed the written
exam, remember?"
I
couldn't help but exclaim, “Ah!"
I
had completely forgotten, but this girl, Anna, had already passed the written
exam.
"You,
I can't believe you passed that exam in middle school~...... ah!”
However,
having said that much, I realized. I finally realized.
Connections...
huh?
"Wha-
what's with that look......? Ah, hey! I'm telling you, it's
completely the result of my hard work! It's a kind of national exam,
so connections or cheating won't work!"
That's
true...
“I mean, if you have the brains
to pass that exam, why do you have such a terrible brain... or rather, such
poor grades?”
“......
Gukh, being told that so straightforwardly hurts me. It's not that I passed
that exam and got bad grades, rather, my grades are bad because I passed
that exam.......”
“Oh...... I see.”
...You
sacrificed your school studies to pass the exam?
If
you think about it, if you're spending 500 hours on another exam while adventuring,
it's no wonder your schoolwork suffers.
If
you don't have a solid grasp of the basics from middle school, of course you
won't understand the high school stuff.
I
had assumed Anna's failing grades were just a matter of motivation, given her
quick wit and decent memory. However, I now realize it was due to her studies
for the four-star test.
"Well,
let's leave that story for now. I think I can handle the practical exam. Anna's
already passed the written test. So, all that's left is the dungeon clearance
record..."
“N~...
I think that'll be fine. There's talk that the four-star promotion exam will be
simplified in the near future."
"What? Really?"
“Yes… it's still an unofficial
rumor, but I think it's pretty much certain. Apparently, the country wants to
increase the number of four-stars even a little bit, and it seems they're
planning to reduce the clearance record for D-rank dungeons to ten, and also
possibly allow Card Gear to be brought into the written exam.”
“Wha...
they're going to allow people to bring in their Card Gear? That would make
things a lot easier.”
"Exactly!
And I sacrificed my school grades to pass, you know!"
Anna
slammed her fist on the table in frustration.
Well,
I could understand how she must be feeling.
The
Card Gear also came with the Six Codes4
installed to make it easier to resolve disputes within the dungeon.
If
they let people use Card Gear, the test will suddenly become as easy as getting
a driver's license.
No
wonder Anna's furious, after sacrificing her grades and getting branded as a
dummy.
"If
it's going to be that easy, it looks like I can pass the four-star test on my
own.”
To
be blunt, if the written exam, which was the main obstacle, now allows Card
Gear, then achieving four-star status is practically assured if I can just get
through the practical exam.
"Mm,
can you hold off a bit? I think Kannadzuki-senpai's leaving is related to the
four-star thing..."
“Ah... right, that makes sense."
It
feels like there's something going on that needs the Four Stars, and his
sister's connections got him involved...
“......For now, I guess I'll
just keep it to the practical exam until we know more.”
“I think that's the safest
option.”
What
else could be a problem ...... ah, right!
“If
I'm going to be on my own, what about teleporting and the Garnet collection? Or, for that matter, what
about school?”
While
I'm operating separately, of course efficient clearing with the Hamelin's Flute
won't be possible. Even if I hold the
flute, it would be difficult for me to attend school and take the exam at the
same time.
“For the
Garnets, I got a card with treasure-hunting abilities, so it'll be fine. As for
school... honestly, there's no need to attend classes seriously anymore, right?
The school won't say anything about it at this point. So, from now on, our side
will be skipping classes and staying overnight in the dungeon. Like that, even
without Hamelin's Flute, we should manage for a month or so."
"I
see......."
Indeed,
now that the prophecy had been announced, there was no need to take classes so
earnestly anymore.
You
won't have to repeat the year if you miss a month or two of school now.
...But
now Kimaris, the Carbuncle radar, is out of the picture. I finally have to
think about what to do with it.
Should
I use it as is, trade it, or use it to rank up Dullahan...?
"...Also,
about the drops while Senpai is on your own for the exam."
“Ah
right, we need to settle that part properly."
Do we
share all the loot since we are in the same Adventurers' Club, or should it be
the property of the team that acquires it during our separation…?
“For
the cards you acquire during the exam, Senpai, please keep them as your own. In
exchange, we'll distribute the cards acquired in the school dungeon among
ourselves. However, for drops from Garnet and the Golden Disappointment Box,
we'll distribute them to you as well, since you'll be working separately for
the Adventurers' Club’s sake."
Got it...
the drops are allocated to the team that acquires them. Indeed, keeping tabs on
the specific items and quantities obtained by teams operating independently
would be quite challenging and the record-keeping would be cumbersome.
And
the Garnet distribution, my primary concern, is shared when the action is for
the club, but not if it's for personal reasons. So, in this case, I will
receive Garnet because what I will do is for the club's sake, but Teacher, who’s
leaving for personal reasons, won’t receive any Garnet.
I
do feel a little bad for Teacher, but if we started giving shares to people who
leave for personal stuff, everyone else would accumulate dissatisfaction, so we
should be strict about these things.
"Well,
this is just a pretext, though."
While
I was nodding my head, Anna said something I couldn't help but question.
"A
pretext?"
"Yes.
I mean, sure, we're splitting up, but we could still divide the drops evenly...
But this way, the cards Senpai gets will belong to you, right?"
Anna
said with a grin.
And
so, I finally understood what she meant.
"...Oh,
I get it, so that's what you mean.”
"That's
what I mean."
Basically,
since we're splitting up, she's telling me to go all out and boost my own
strength.
True,
while operating as part of the Adventurers' Club, even if I managed to drop a
B-rank card, it would be a shared property with everyone else.
Since
that would increase my survival rate in Angolmois, I had no complaints, but I
guess it was a concern for Anna.
On
reflection, this was truly a very enticing proposition.
During
the month of the promotion test, I get to use one C-rank dungeon and one
special dungeon all to myself.
Of
course, once they’re conquered, the test ends there. ...But on the flip side, as
long as I haven't beaten the Boss, I can reset until the one I want comes out.
A
month...30 chances to see if the Boss I want will appear. It depends on luck,
but the special-type dungeon is way more likely to give me a card to rank up
since it brings out ones that will either exploit my deck's weakness or surpass
its strengths.
But a
month, huh.......
A
mysterious darkness that can only be seen when I perform Fate Manipulation. It
was looming quite close.
I
think there's probably another two months or so, but even then, I can't be
certain because the darkness itself kept coming closer and farther away.
I
don't know if this is Angolmois, but the likelihood is quite high.
Before
then, I wanted to somehow visit a special-type dungeon again, so this was a
godsend for me.
"Got
it. ...I'll come back after growing a lot during the exam."
"I
look forward to it."
Anna
smiled as she said this.
[TIPS]
Items created by cards
Items
produced by cards generally remain as physical substances even after the
monsters are returned to the card or you leave the dungeon.
There
are even cards that can create not only plants but also animals like cows and
pigs from nothing.
Naturally,
the food produced in this way is perfectly safe for humans to eat, and some
even have special effects.
One
example is the (fake) golden apple produced by the Garden of Hesperides, but
its effects are significantly weaker compared to the magic item of the same
name that appears from the dungeon.
For
this reason, magic items produced by such cards are called pseudo-magic items
to distinguish them from dungeon-produced magic items.
When
selling these items, it is mandatory to clearly state that they are
pseudo-magic items, but fraud exploiting the fact that they look the same and
that the authenticity of their effects cannot be determined without consuming
them is rampant.
