[WN] Hidden Reincarnated Hero : Chapter 100

■■■■■■■■■■

100 Yamato's Love

Since then, I haven't seen Itsukushima-san. Anneliese and the others said it would take a while. I don't know for what, but it seems I just have to wait.

One day, observing their training, the Dragonewt Patricia was displaying her muscle-brain tendencies quite well.

"Hraaaah!" She tackled a large male beastman who had acquired the Sword Master job, sending him flying. Then, turning around, she swung her mace and tried to send two more flying... but couldn't. Her lack of dexterity might be her weakness.

Her height was about 180 centimeters. She wasn't as tall as Karon, but she was still on the taller side for a woman. Her hair was a deep blue, navy blue, perhaps? Her eyes were orange and almond-shaped. She had a 5-centimeter horn on her forehead, bat-like membrane wings on her back, and scales in places on her skin. She was only 13 years old, but her appearance was that of an adult woman, and quite a beautiful one at that.

I had planned for Patricia to aim to become a Knight. She had high power and defense, but she lacked dexterity, so I thought she could excel as a tank.

"I just thought... why did it turn out like this...?"

The job Patricia acquired was, surprisingly, Holy Forgiver. There are several acquisition conditions for the Holy Forgiver job. Among them, she had cleared the condition of being a Villager and defeated 10 monsters higher than her own level bare-handed within 3 hours, without anyone's help. It seems that what would generally be a suicidal act is possible for races like Dragonewts. Though it might be because she's Patricia, not just a Dragonewt. Priests have a merciful side, but they are also a martial job. So, this might be a possibility. And even if she's clumsy, she can overpower low-level monsters with brute strength.

"But why a double mace?" Yamato murmured, shaking his head.

"Oh dear, she missed again." In Yamato's line of sight, Patricia was rampaging with maces in both hands. However, many of Patricia's attacks were dodged. Because she lacked dexterity, she couldn't feint or do similar moves.

Gandarvan had instructed her many times, but she couldn't do it. Gandarvan said that Patricia was strong due to her race, but because she wasn't dexterous, she might not be able to become a top-tier fighter. But her earnestness was evident to me too. It was a craving, a desire to become strong, from the bottom of her heart.

"She missed again..."

"You're paying a lot of attention. Is Patricia that interesting to you?" I teased.

"Wh-wh-wh-wh-wh-what foolishness are you talking about!" Yamato stammered.

"I'll give her to you for 8,000,000," I offered.

"Toi-kun!" Yamato stood up, glaring at me. If he liked her, it would be easier for me to deal with him if he just said so.

"Don't get so excited, sit down," I urged.

"You say strange things..." he grumbled. Well, I'm more experienced in romance than Yamato. After all, I have Anneliese, my fiancée! Gah-hahahaha!

"You're making an annoying face, you know?" Yamato commented.

"That's not true. I'm told I've become very cute since I reincarnated," I replied.

"You certainly have a cute face, but that's not what I'm talking about..." he trailed off. Reluctantly, I admitted I was cute. If it was the god (laughs)'s harassment, then it was still okay. But if my soul was put into someone's body who was living in this world, I couldn't forgive that damned god. Unfortunately, I don't know which it is. Even Detailed Appraisal doesn't tell me that. Leaving that aside, I don't think it's something I can just leave aside, but it's not something I can fix by thinking about it, so I'll leave it aside.

"By the way, Yamato~"

"What? You're making a cat-like meow-voice, it's disgusting!" Yamato snapped.

"Lend me your ear for a moment," I said, wiggling my finger. Yamato leaned his ear towards me, so I blew into it, and he jumped.

"Wh-wh-wh-wh-why would you do that!?" he shrieked.

"You said 'Hyaaaah!' Didn't you? Seriously, you said 'Hyaaaah!'" I teased.

"Argh, Toi-kun, cut it out already!?"

I knew it wasn't good to tease Yamato, but I couldn't help myself. His reactions were amusing. Oh, wait, this is what they call power harassment. I should reflect and talk to him properly.

"Sit down, Yamato. And, your ear," I said.

"I'm not falling for that!" he retorted.

"No, I'm serious this time. I won't tease you anymore," I promised. He reluctantly offered his ear. This guy, he'd be fooled even if it wasn't me. Well, I'll talk to him properly this time.

"Mumble, mumble, mumble."

"That's interesting. Leave it to me," Yamato said after hearing what I mumbled, then ran off gleefully.

The next day, after having Rose grow fruits, rice, and spices, and harvesting them, I was watching everyone train when Yamato arrived.

"Hey, what's wrong? You haven't even had breakfast."

"I was making this," he replied. One of the Carriers took something out of his Item Box. It was what I had asked Yamato to make, and it landed on the ground with a thud.

"Go call Patricia," I instructed the Carrier. After a while, Patricia arrived. She was still swinging her double maces, but more than half of her attacks were dodged. Her accuracy was probably 10 to 20 percent. 30 percent would be a high estimate. Her accuracy was quite poor even in training.

"Patricia. You're full of energy today too," I commented.

"Being full of energy is my only asset!" she replied. Indeed, Patricia's energy reminded me of Oromin C. She'd probably soon start shouting "Fighto! Ippatsu!" Wait, was that Lipotan D? Oh well, it's good to be full of energy.

"Yamato has a present for you, Patricia," I announced.

"A present?" Patricia asked.

"Hey, Toi-kun!" Yamato protested.

"Eh, it's not a present? I called you because I thought it was something for Patricia?" I feigned ignorance.

"No, u-uh, it's something for her, but..." Yamato's voice grew fainter and fainter until it was inaudible.

"Then it's fine if it's a present, isn't it? Patricia, this is for you," I said, handing her an iron club. Dragonewts have horns, so it's like "giving an iron club to an oni" (making an already strong person even stronger), huh?

"This is for me?" she asked.

"Yes. Yamato stayed up all night making it for you," I explained.

"Thank you, Yamato-sama!" she exclaimed.

"Eh, ah, no, it's fine," Yamato stammered, blushing. Even I could tell. That's love, isn't it?

Patricia swapped her double maces for the iron club, which was about her height, and swung it around. Its reach was several times that of the maces, making it difficult for others to dodge. And its appearance was more menacing than the maces, allowing it to instill fear in those trying to dodge.

"Good for you, Yamato. Patricia is happy using it," I commented. I hoped Yamato's love would bear fruit. He was one of my few friends, so I would support him from the sidelines.
