[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 129

Chapter 129

After the Rest

Translator : PolterGlast

Having annihilated the Demon King's Army numbering over a thousand, we took a rest at an inn to recover from our fatigue before returning to Biodasdal. While my fatigue was completely gone after sleeping for just a few hours, Ginia and Aoi seemed to have accumulated more exhaustion than I thought, and they devoted two full days to recuperating.

Ria, Tricia, and Maud seemed to have been quite worried about whether we would return safely, but once they knew we were back, they returned to their usual selves. Their physical strength seems to be recovering smoothly, and their bodies, which were just skin and bones, seem like they are gradually gaining some flesh, so excessive worry shouldn't be necessary anymore.

"Graham-san, I am sorry for resting for two whole days. I have fully recovered, so we can return to Biodasdal anytime!"

"No, no. We weren't in a rush, so you don't need to worry about it. Besides, you two fought quite a bit. Coupled with the strange tension from the number of enemies, you probably used more physical strength than usual, so it can't be helped that it took time to recover."

"Exactly! It didn't feel like we fought that much, but just because Graham defeated an absurd number of monsters doesn't mean we didn't fight a lot too!"

When I followed up on Ginia's apology, Aoi jumped on my words. Ginia tends to blame herself for some reason, so Aoi is truly helpful at times like this.

"It's just as Aoi says. You both fought well, so it's only natural to rest."

"More importantly... I want to go back to Biodasdal right now! I said it after the battle ended too, but I'm in the mood to just lazily relax in Biodasdal!"

"I feel the same! The Royal Capital isn't bad by any means, but it is a little too lively for me."

I share the same opinion as the two of them. Salis treated us well, and there wasn't a single inconvenience... but Biodasdal is definitely more relaxing.

"Our return was delayed by the Demon King's Army's invasion, but shall we just say goodbye to Salis and quickly head back to Biodasdal? Ria, Tricia, and Maud seem to have regained enough stamina to travel as well."

"Alriiight! Let's go back, let's go back! If that's decided, we’d better get ready to head back!"

"Will we be able to meet Salis-san immediately? I have a feeling she might be running around busy with the aftermath."

"I'll ask the Guild Master. Anyway, I'll come to pick you up again in the afternoon."

After telling them that, I parted ways with the two for the moment. First, I'll tell the Guild Master about seeing Salis, and after that, I'll go say my farewells to Max.

I don't have any luggage to pack, so I can depart at any time. Thinking about that, I headed toward the room where the Guild Master was staying.

When I told the Guild Master that I wanted to greet Salis, he immediately headed to the Adventurer's Guild. Since we didn't know if we could meet her yet, the Guild Master went to the Adventurer's Guild alone, so I decided to head to Max's place as planned.

Max was technically an enemy at first, but since coming to the Royal Capital, he has taken care of us quite a bit. Even when we went to subjugate the Demon King's Army, he watched over Ria, Tricia, and Maud, so naturally, I wanted to say goodbye to him before going home.

I proceeded through the Black Market, which felt unremarkable now, and arrived at the base of the Grey Volunteers. The members seemed to have already memorized my face, as they guided me to Max immediately.

"Ah, Graham-sama! Do you have a request this time as well?"

Visiting this frequently in such a short period would normally make one seem annoying, but... Upon seeing my face, Max looked happy for some reason as he asked that.

"No, today I came to say hello and thank you for the other day. We'll be returning to Biodasdal soon."

"Eh?! You are going back already? ...It makes me so sad, especially since we finally managed to have this fateful reunion."

"Well, it was essentially like we came to visit. We'll probably come to the Royal Capital again, and the current Max should be able to come to Biodasdal too. When that happens... next time, I'll show you around Biodasdal."

Since they are no longer the Unbearable God Cult, they should be able to enter Biodasdal. I'm not knowledgeable enough to be a guide, but I intend to offer my own form of hospitality.

"Is that true?! It is an honor to be guided by Graham-sama!"

"Just don't expect too much. ...Anyway, you really helped us with various things this time. Like guiding us through the Black Market and looking after the three of them."

"Helped you? No, no! If it's something like that, allow me to do it anytime! If there is anything I can do, please do not hesitate to call out to me anytime!"

"Yeah, I'll rely on you without hesitation. And if there's anything I can do, I'll help, so just tell me."

Chuckling lightly at the turn of events where Max was the one bowing his head repeatedly even though I went to thank him, I parted with Max and left the Black Market. The Black Market showed me various sides of itself; while I don't exactly like the place, it has become a place with strong memories for me. After burning the scenery of the Black Market into my eyes—I returned to the inn to wait for the Guild Master, who had gone to make an appointment.
