[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 212

Chapter 212

Dungeon Conquest

Translator : PolterGlast

Having finished our preparations, we completed the procedures at the Adventurer's Guild and decided to dive into the dungeon. The facilities were better than the dungeon in the Royal Capital, but it seemed the procedures were considerably more complex because of that.

I could see adventurers who had just arrived in the Dungeon City like us being made to go through lengthy procedures. Casting a sideways glance at those adventurers, we smoothly passed right by them.

This was also one of the merits of being invited; Lynette had completed all the various procedures for us in advance. Thanks to that, we were able to jump straight into capturing the dungeon without any stress like this.

Getting through the gates was easy, but entering the dungeon is easy too! Being invited is great!

Yeah. It looked like the procedures alone would take an hour, so we owe it all to Lynette.

Even so, it's amazing. I was surprised by the dungeon in the Royal Capital, but the dungeon here is on another level. It even has the atmosphere of an attraction.

There were dungeon-related souvenirs being sold near the Adventurer's Guild, and just as Ginia said, the theme-park attraction vibe was undeniable. The premise that "even if you die in the dungeon, you don't really die" was also heavily pushed to the forefront, and I felt there were fewer of the rough-looking crowds typically seen among adventurers. For better or worse, the overall atmosphere was laid-back.

The atmosphere inside and the air flowing here are laid-back, but let's brace ourselves and take on the challenge from here. It's okay even if we die in the dungeon, but our goal is for no one to die.

Understood! Even if they say it's okay to die, I absolutely don't want to die!

Indeed. It seems it still hurts all the same, so let's challenge it with the goal of not dying.

After calling out to Ginia and Aoi, we got on a large magic-driven elevator and descended into the dungeon. Since everything up to this point had been so unorthodox, taking a magic-driven elevator down made me imagine a special kind of dungeon, but... the actual dungeon was more normal than I expected.

The dungeon itself is normal, isn't it. Is the only difference that it's slightly brighter?

Right! I ended up imagining some outrageous place!

I imagined an amazing place too, but it's quite ordinary. Let's shift our gears and begin the capture.

As expected, it seemed they weren't able to alter the dungeon itself in any way. Feeling slightly disappointed, we began capturing the dungeon.

Alriight! With this, the capture of the ninth floor is complete! The monsters on the lower floors are weak, huh!

Yes. They aren't much different from the monsters that appear near Biodasdal.

We've been able to get here easily, and I think it's a good pace. However, it seems there's a floor boss every ten floors, so the next one could be a checkpoint.

The floor boss is one of the dungeon's major features. In exchange for only one monster appearing on a single floor, it happens to be a considerably strong monster.

I'm looking forward to the floor boss! We've only faced opponents with no backbone so far, so I hope it's a strong monster!

The floor boss of the tenth floor was the Freeze Devil, right? I have its characteristics memorized, but I'm a little nervous.

Yeah, that's right. We've obtained information on it, so I don't think it's an opponent you'll struggle much against.

Yeah, yeah! Compared to the monsters we've fought so far, it'll be a breeze!

While Ginia remained vigilant, Aoi and I were relatively optimistic. It was an opponent they wouldn't lose to even on their first encounter, and we had gathered plenty of information regarding the Freeze Devil.

Perhaps influenced by its attraction-like management style, information on the floor bosses up to the 50th floor was available for free without any hassle. It seemed there were even things like dungeon capture time attacks, and apparently, fast people would subjugate the Freeze Devil in less than a minute.

While thinking about such things, I absentmindedly watched the two of them fight the Freeze Devil. The Freeze Devil was a humanoid cow monster about two meters tall.

It was characterized by launching ice-attribute attacks, and while it seemed one could struggle if countermeasures weren't taken, as long as you had countermeasures against the ice attribute, it could be defeated without taking a scratch. There was no way Ginia and Aoi would struggle against the Freeze Devil, for which an efficient defeat method had already been established, and they showed they could take it down completely in a matter of minutes.

A pieeecce of cake! It looked scary, but it was nothing at all!

I'm surprised it really wasn't a big deal. At this rate, the Silver Golem we fought a long time ago was stronger.

I actually think the Silver Golem is stronger. However, this is just the first floor boss, after all. Let's proceed with the capture without dropping our guard.

I tightened our focus like that, but honestly, we would probably be able to reach the thirtieth floor with ease. Even in peaceful Biodasdal, the two of them hadn't slacked off and had continued their training, steadily growing stronger.

As for Aoi, she was originally a solo B-Rank adventurer, so looking at it from simple aptitude ranks, she had plenty of leeway. I was starting to worry whether we would encounter a monster that could satisfy their desire for battle, but if we proceed smoothly up to the thirtieth floor like this, it might be fine to let Ginia and Aoi experience fighting the Kaonashi first.
