[WN] Three Skills : Volume 1 Chapter 36

Volume 1

Chapter 36

I Encountered Giant Golems

Translator : PolterGlast

"Oh, I'm out."

I had somehow gotten out of the maze.

The golem, which had been swinging its arms at me, had suddenly stopped moving as though it had run out of batteries after countless rounds of attacks and defenses.

Towards the end of the battle, I was completely on the back foot, being destroyed as soon as I regenerated.

But then, suddenly, the golem's arms fell to the floor, the light from its gem disappeared, and it stopped moving. ...It was fun.

I'm satisfied that I defeated such a strong enemy, and I feel a sense of superiority.

But somehow, I feel something incomplete about it. As for the golem, it feels more like it lost due to its own limitations rather than being defeated by my power.

I won, but somehow it's unsatisfying.

So, I resumed exploring the maze. Since the exit didn't open even after defeating the golem, I smashed the wall that had blocked the entrance before the fight and returned the way I came, and then went in the opposite direction.

Along the way, I encountered many golems standing in large spaces, swinging their arms in the air, challenging me to a fight, but I faced each one and in the end, the golems all repeated the same ending.

It's fun while I'm fighting, but the ending is...

With this in mind, I walked down the long, long corridor.

This straight path is incredibly long.

I can see a door-like thing at the end. Since I can see it from here, it must be pretty big.

There are only two lights near the door, and there are no lights in the corridor. It's like walking through a big tunnel.

I walked forward without hesitation and reached the door. As expected, it's really big. Maybe ten meters?

I tried to push it open.

It doesn't open.

"Huh?"

You've got to be kidding me. There doesn't seem to be any kind of keyhole, so how do I open it?

There's no handle either, so I can't pull it... huh?

Forget it, it's too much trouble to think about. This is supposed to be a ruin, so it's probably okay if I break it a little. No one will know if I don't say anything.

I pulled my elbow back with all my might and then───thrust my fist out forcefully.

Boom!

The part where my fist hit shattered, and the shock completely dislodged the door's hinges. The door was literally blown away.

"Alright"

I proceeded inside.

Inside was a very large space. I can't tell exactly how big it is because there are only lights near the entrance and the door at the far end. But I can tell it's just wide.

And in the back of the room───in front of the door across me, there were two golems that could be considered gatekeepers. These guys are huge.

Because the room is dark, I can't say for sure how big they are, but even from what I can see for sure, they must be at least twenty meters tall. There are two of them, this is bad.

Their legs are cylindrical───or rather, they're probably made up of several cylinders combined. It's a pretty distorted structure.

I can see something glowing in their upper part. Judging from their location, I wonder if their heads are glowing.

One of them is holding a huge rod. Is there something attached to the tip? It's holding it with its right hand, and the other one is holding... what is that? It has a cone-like shape from the handle to the top... but because the handle is rod-shaped, it's not a perfect cone... I can't explain it well.

Anyway... their size is unexpected.

The light from one of the golems' eyes shone especially brightly───and in an instant, the golem holding the rod-like thing moved, clenched its left fist, which was not holding anything, and swung it down at me from a kneeling position.

□□□

I regenerate a little distance away from where I was killed.

It's definitely advantageous to be big when it comes to attacking. I can lose my whole body in one blow.

But at least I discovered that the golems' fists don't have that annihilation membrane.

If the fists they use for fighting don't have a membrane, then their bodies probably don't have one either. Maybe it's just on their weapons?

Well, anyway, first───

Pew!!!!

Before I could attack, one of the golems fired a beam of light from around its head. My body was completely reduced to ashes without a trace.

Haha, how merciless.

My body began to regenerate again.

This time, with my fist───

Pew!

A laser was fired from the other golem before I finished regenerating.

Pew!

It was fired again.

It's like they knew I could regenerate.

I start regenerating in front of the door, behind the golems.

The golems are still firing lasers at the same spot and haven't noticed me.

And then my regeneration is complete.

The corners of my mouth naturally turned up as I clenched my fist and got ready.

Then, I stepped forward and approached one of the huge golems───and thrust my fist into the golem's calf.

The golem's leg shattered into pieces.

But the golem didn't fall down.

The other golem, sensing my position, turned around and hit me with the back of its fist. The impact crushed my body, and only a large amount of blood splattered.

Huh?

This is definitely unexpected. The golem is still standing upright. It's as if it's being supported by something invisible and intangible. Besides, the scattered debris began to tremble, float, and return to its original shape.

It can regenerate too. Moreover, it doesn't have any movement restrictions. I'm clearly at a disadvantage. And I'm also outnumbered.

"………."

Good, let's do more.
