[WN] Villainous Witch : Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Fell Off a Cliff

Translator : PolterGlast

"Ahahahaha!!"

She put her slender, pale finger to her mouth, her ample chest trembling as she looked down. Magnificent demon wings sprouted from her back. There were no demons in this world, but she evoked the image perfectly. The cloudy sky swirled violently around her as if she were the eye of a storm.

Her beautiful golden hair fluttered as she turned her crimson eyes towards the girl. A one-eyed man stood beside the girl. He was also missing an arm, and his handsome face turned towards the woman, biting his lip.

She must have been in her mid-twenties. The revealing, tight-fitting black dress further accentuated her beauty. "What? A saint? A brat like you? And you're going to defeat me?" she mocked the girl. "Don't be ridiculous!" Her red eyes burned fiercely.

"Yuko, the power of prayer...!"

"Yes...!"

The brown-haired girl nodded at the one-eyed man with black hair, clasping her hands together. Her blazer, a style not found in this country, fluttered. It was considered a sacred garment in the Five-Leaf Country, a symbol of the saint. The woman—Eldorado—had committed various evil deeds. She hated people, plunged them into chaos, and laughed at their suffering.

A great power gathered around Yuko. The power of the earth, the sky, and the spirits.

Eldorado clicked her tongue. But it was only for a moment before her crimson eyes and lips softened. "Really, what a foolish child." A bewitching voice. Eldorado snapped her fingers—

That was the animated image inserted into the game.

I lay on the ground, looking up at the sky, remembering. The wings on my back were a bit of a nuisance, but it couldn't be helped. The sky had shone brightly for a moment when I fell from the cliff, but now it was the same cloudy sky as usual.

"That's a scam..."

I muttered quietly.

Because it is a scam. Calculating backwards from the current calendar and the year the girl called Yuko would be summoned, it was roughly three years. There was no way this plump eight-year-old body would grow into that curvaceous figure. I didn't know about future prospects, but at least I currently had a flat chest.

"No, maybe it's just my imagination, or something."

I had been reincarnated as the villain in the game. That's impossible. As I chuckled nervously, I noticed a semi-transparent, bright blue window on the right side of my vision. Of course, I had never seen anything like it before.

Name Eldorado (8 years old)

Skills Illusion Lv. 1, Flight Lv. 1, Cleaning Lv. 3

"…………"

Eldorado's unique demon skill in the game was illusion. After the animation I had just recalled, it would transition into the battle mode between Yuko and Eldorado, but that was a bad ending, a guaranteed loss event.

Yuko would be randomly summoned to one of the five-leaf countries, and each country had key characters. You could try to romance them or go to another country and try to capture a different character, but in every country, there was a mid-boss demon, and Eldorado was one of them.

However, why was she called the "most terrifying" and not the "strongest"? In the battle against Eldorado, you should never bring a male character. The event I had just remembered was when you brought the one-eyed knight, who was a key character in Cloudy Country. She would use her voluptuous body and illusions to manipulate male characters and turn them into her allies. Once that happened, it became difficult to defeat Eldorado, and you would be attacked by the character you were supposed to be romancing, resulting in a game over—a so-called traumatic event.

There was only one way to defeat Eldorado. You had to raise Yuko's ATK as much as possible and make her a physical attack specialist. Then, the saint alone would beat Eldorado into a pulp and defeat her. It wasn't impossible, but it was troublesome, and it made leveling up the key characters meaningless, only draining the player's motivation. She was the "most terrifying" and hated character.

Although she had some popularity among a certain segment of players due to her cute, devilish appearance as a blonde, red-eyed, body-con character, that was only based on her looks. But even those looks were strange when you calculated her age backwards. "Okay, it's definitely not me, I'm fine," I thought as my vision brightened, but then I noticed the scroll button. The title section was displayed.

Title Cloudy Country's Most Terrifying Witch [Planned]

"You didn't have to emphasize the [planned] so much...!"

I could only be disheartened.

Ugh... With an indescribable pain in my chest, I just muttered, "It's a scam...!!" That curvaceous, voluptuous body in the original work was supposed to be an eleven-year-old? That's ridiculous. Even with the good upbringing of another world, there are limits. Then there's only one possibility. It's all the work of Eldorado's "illusion." Since she would be underestimated in a child's body, she probably used her powers to create an adult form.

A mere kid with a flat chest, laughing "Ahaha" against the cloudy sky, hiding her true form. Imagining it made my chest ache.

"Why would she do something like that..."

I sighed, looking up at the rustling trees, but surprisingly, it wasn't hard to imagine. Anyway, she hated people. In the game's backstory, Eldorado's village had already been destroyed, and she had gone berserk after losing her target for revenge. If she learned of Yuko's existence, who was called a saint and considered the representative of humans, she would definitely have flown off on her bat wings.

If I hadn't regained my memories, I would probably have ended up the same way. Just lying here on the ground in a daze, before clenching my fists and hating all humans.

(I'm angry, I have the feelings, but...)

I was already El, and my memories of Japan were hazy. But I knew that continuing to burn with hatred was incredibly painful, and her parents were also dead. Since it was a small village, I remembered everyone's faces, but the only ones I could clearly recall were the couple from next door and their child, who would occasionally come to check on me.  After desperately trying to burn up my frustration, I just looked up at the sky in a daze, suddenly muttering in my heart, "I'm glad I'm alive."

"...Let's run away."

El loved to make the house sparkling clean, she was a cute and energetic girl. That's why "cleaning" was among her skills. Thinking back after regaining my memories, I was smart enough to wonder, wouldn't it have been wiser if my memories hadn't returned? As expected of the [planned] most terrifying witch.

Fortunately, I only had minor injuries and nothing that prevented me from moving. El had lived alone, so she had knowledge of the forest. The flight skill would be especially useful.

"I won't seek revenge."

And I will definitely never wear a body-con dress.

I stood up abruptly and vowed. Looking closely at my inner feelings, I still had the urge to shout "Why?", but I also had a lid on the pot to suppress those feelings.

A rabbit hopped by. It was quite small, and I realized it was a baby rabbit. I heard the chirping of small birds, and the leaves rustled. The trees around the village weren't that different. If so, then the distance wasn't that far yet, and it wouldn't be strange if they came at any moment. "I have to run. Far away, anyway." The adults of the village would immediately come to check to see if the fallen demon was dead. They would search every nook and cranny to find my small body. That's why I had to run.

"I wonder what El would have done in the original story...?"

I spoke to calm myself down. It was a stroke of luck that I had acquired the flight skill. No, perhaps this body was inherently full of magical talent. A normal demon would have already been squashed after falling from that cliff.

By the way, the game window that had been flickering in my vision was really annoying, so I waved my hand up and down, left and right, and it finally disappeared. It was a familiar semi-transparent window. Wasn't that supposed to be the skill and title display that only the game's protagonist, Yuko, could see?

I vaguely remembered an explanation in the game that it was a mysterious window that only special beings from another world could see. ...Let's not think about it too deeply.
