Chapter 153
Migration
Translator : PolterGlast
Three days have passed in the blink of an eye since we moved
into the Greatest family's former residence. This time has been
incredibly busy; I spent my days teaching Ria, Tricia, and Maud,
as well as Gree and Anne, everything they needed to do from
scratch, while also completing requests alongside Ginia and Aoi
during the day.
Although it is tough, I am spending very fulfilling days.
One troublesome thing is that Gree says he wants to fight alongside me
rather than helping around the house.
If I watch over him, I could likely take him on simple
requests... but simple requests result in low rewards. I explained this
thoroughly as well, clearly conveying why I couldn't take him along. While he
eventually yielded, it seems he hasn't given up on becoming an adventurer
itself.
Influenced by Gree, even Anne and Ria
have started saying they want to fight, and Ginia and Aoi are as
noisy as ever about wanting me to train them. Currently, we have two days off a
week, and I intended to use these two days to travel far and hunt monsters with
high request fees, but perhaps I should make it three days off a week and
dedicate one day to spending time with everyone.
I don't know if the orphanage will run smoothly with this,
but according to the Guild Master, although it's not a huge amount, we
can receive subsidies from the country, and apparently, they will also collect
donations within the Adventurer's Guild. However, since the target
audience is adventurers, he told me not to expect much from the donation
amount, so I have to work hard after all.
Eventually, I hope the children who leave this orphanage
will support it, but for now, I have no choice but to make it work with my own
strength. As I folded my arms and agonized over what the correct course of
action was, Ginia and Aoi came to visit the house.
"Osu! Oh, Graham. You look like you're worrying
about something; what's wrong?"
"I was worrying about what moves to make from here on
out—wait, what is that large luggage?"
"Hm? Well, I thought I'd stay here starting today! I'm
the only one at the inn, right? It's lonely, so I thought being in the same
house would be better and decided to live here!"
"I tried to stop her, but Aoi-chan wouldn't back
down... Graham-san, I apologize."
"No, it's not something to apologize for. Well, having
one more person increase now doesn't really change anything."
"Eh! So I can live here! Yay! It really is worth
asking!"
Aoi began to
do a little happy dance while still holding her large luggage. Well, I had
originally thought it would be nice if Ginia and Aoi could live
here too—so there is no problem with them moving in.
"E-Ehh! Is it really okay to allow it so easily!?"
"We have tons of spare rooms right now, after all.
...However, since you're living here, I'll have you help out with various
things."
"Of course! I always helped out when I was staying at
the tavern, so if it's light chores, I'll gladly do them!"
"Then, I don't mind."
"Ehh! Then, I will live here too!"
"Is it okay to decide that so easily? You should
probably consult the tavern owner, Kylar."
"It's fine! I will continue my part-time job at the
tavern, and Kylar-san has been urging me to find an inn quickly anyway! Graham-san,
it's okay for me to live here too, right!?"
Ginia leaned
forward aggressively and pressed me with the question. Of course I don't
mind... but I found myself wondering if she always had such an assertive
personality. The theory that her personality has become similar to Aoi's
due to spending so much time together is quite plausible.
"It's fine by me, but are you sure?"
"Of course! In that case, I'll bring my luggage over
later!"
"Understood. In that case, please use the attic room on
the third floor. It's slightly dusty, but it has a window, so if you ventilate
and clean it a little, you should be able to stay there comfortably."
"The attic room! I get to use that spacious room!"
"Yeah. In exchange, please donate two gold coins to
this orphanage every month as rent."
"Of course, I will donate! Two gold coins a month comes
out to about seven copper coins a night. It's actually cheap!"
"Plus, calling it a donation to the orphanage is nice!
Even though I'm just paying for accommodation, it feels like I'm doing a good
deed!"
"I will actually use it for this orphanage, so you will
be doing a good deed."
"Even though we aren't really doing anything."
I would have been in trouble if they refused, so it helped
that they both readily agreed. So, for now, eight people will be living in this
house.
Even with this, there are still plenty of spare rooms, and
there's even an annex, so it just shows how massive the Greatest
family's former residence is. Leaving Ginia aside, having Aoi
live here will likely make things even rowdier. While I am looking forward to
it, I'm also starting to worry if the hardship will increase.
"Oh, right! Thanks to Graham and the Guild
Master who bought this house cheaply... wait, ah! My head was so full of
staying here that I forgot, but the Guild Master came to the tavern
earlier! He was saying something about holding money from the Lightmira Guild
Master!"
"Don't just say 'he was saying something'—tell me that
first. I'm going to the Guild Master's place right now, so you two go
ahead and prepare for your move on your own."
"Understood. I'll bring my luggage and make use of the
room!"
"I'm going straight to the attic to clean!"
Listening to their replies, I left the house and decided to
head to the Adventurer's Guild. The money from the Lightmira Guild
Master must be the payment for the Cruhamilion's materials.
I have no idea how much it ended up being, so I'm looking forward to it. With my heart pounding in anticipation, I headed to the Adventurer's Guild at a brisk pace.
