[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 176

Chapter 176

Box of Sweets

Translator : PolterGlast

Since we had been attacked by the Dragon Zombie during the night, we decided to take a day off. Fighting monsters while climbing the mountain, followed by battling the Dragon Zombie in the middle of the night, was a rather grueling schedule for us.

However, since I had completely recovered, I decided to leave Ginia and Aoi at the inn and head out. My destination was, of course, the Crimson Rose's place.

I wanted to convey my thanks to Veronica and Mona, and I also had to apologize for dragging them into this mess. I bought a box of sweets on the way before heading to Anchelt, the base of operations for the Crimson Rose.

It seemed my face had been remembered, as the owner immediately showed me to a room. Since it was still noon, I had assumed they might be out in the city... but the fact that I was shown in meant they were there.

"Ah, it's Graham. We heard what happened from the Guild Master. Anyway, I'm glad you're safe."

"We are truly sorry. It was due to our lack of influence; we reported everything properly, but he wouldn't listen."

"It's not something you need to apologize for, Veronica. I understand why Greg wouldn't listen. More importantly, sorry for dragging you into such a troublesome matter."

I bowed deeply and handed over the box of sweets I bought on the way as an apology. Incidentally, besides Veronica and Mona, there was one other person in the room listening silently to the conversation.

"If you say that, it is not something you need to apologize for either, Graham-san. You defeated the Dragon Zombie, correct?"

"Yeah. We were attacked while descending, and Ginia and Aoi subjugated it. I think it was the same species as the Red Dragon the Crimson Rose defeated, so the plague should subside with this."

"Just like in the Royal Capital, you really saved us, Graham. I just hope it ends with this."

"Agreed. It would be scary if this doesn't end it, but in that case, allow us to investigate the cause ourselves."

"Contact me if anything happens. If there's anything I can do, I'll come to help immediately. If the Dragon Zombie wasn't the cause, then we just came here to stir up trouble for nothing."

They must have already been busy with the plague issue, so it would leave a bad taste in my mouth if I just caused them extra trouble without solving anything. Next time I'd likely come alone, so I would rush over immediately if there was anything I could do to help.

"As for 'stirring up trouble,' that was just the Guild Master misunderstanding things on his own, so you don't need to worry about anything, Graham."

"Thank you truly for your concern. Even if it does subside, we will be sure to contact you."

"Yeah, I'm counting on you. Next time, I want to make time to come and properly visit. I haven't really been able to see the city of Klingark at all, after all."

Because of the plague, I had only walked the streets to gather information. Greg had been keeping an eye on me too, so I wanted to come back and have fun at a leisurely pace next time.

"When that time comes, we will guide you around the city. By the way, is there any place in particular you are interested in, Graham?"

"A place I'm interested in... If there's an orphanage or a slum, I'd like to go there."

"An orphanage or a slum? You have interest in quite unusual places."

"Actually, I'm thinking of opening an orphanage in Biodasdal. I've already taken in a few, and if there are people in trouble, I want to bring them back and take them in."

"You really do think differently than I do. There are no slums in Klingark... oh, right. Milia, you were from an orphanage, right?"

The woman Mona addressed was the one who had been listening to our conversation silently until now. I just learned her name for the first time, but since I remembered seeing her when we fought in the Royal Capital, she was undoubtedly a member of the Crimson Rose.

"Nn. If it's the orphanage that took care of me, I can introduce you."

"Then, please guide me there next time I come."

When I asked that, the woman called Milia gave a small nod. With this, if there are children in trouble, I can take them in at my place.

"I understand that you'll be coming to Klingark again, Graham, but once things settle down, is it okay if we come to visit Biodasdal too? We have things we want to ask, and simply put, we want to visit Biodasdal."

"Of course I don't mind. When that happens, allow us to show you around Biodasdal."

"Then we shall pay you a visit in the near future. We will be in your care then."

"Yeah. Once again, thanks for helping out with so many things this time. I don't know if I'll come here first or if Veronica and the others will come there first, but I'm looking forward to it."

After saying that, I left Anchelt. With the thanks and greetings to the Crimson Rose completed, I decided to go straight to Greg's place.

A day has passed, so things should be sorted out. I need to have a proper talk with Greg.

I want to finish this today so we can leave as soon as Ginia and Aoi recover. Thinking about that, I headed toward the Adventurer's Guild.
