[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 197

Chapter 197

Wanted Poster

Translator : PolterGlast

Having finished the request I took on as a change of pace, I would now move to investigate the Demon King's Army in earnest. That being said, what I needed to do wouldn't change much from before: just going on expeditions to search for strong monsters.

The Cruuhamillion was merely a strong monster, but I felt that the Red Wyvern was likely connected to the Demon King. Since the Demon King's Army is reportedly searching for strong monsters to recruit, there's a very high probability of making contact with them even if the monster itself isn't affiliated with the Demon King's Army. Without delay, I headed to the Adventurer's Guild and decided to ask the Guild Master for information.

"Oh! Graham-san. What brings you here today?"

"I came to ask for information on strong monsters again. If you know anything about strong monsters in other cities, I'd like you to tell me."

"Regarding strong monsters, huh. In that case, I've taken the liberty of looking into various things on my end. There's no timely information about anyone currently being troubled by monsters, but I've picked out monsters considered dangerous from various regions, so have a look."

I was handed over a dozen sheets of paper by the Guild Master. They were like wanted posters, with each sheet containing information and an illustration of a monster, making it extremely easy to understand.

Furthermore, he even included a rough hazard level, showing which monsters were dangerous based on the number of stars (). From a quick glance, monsters with a high number of stars were basically concentrated in major cities like the Royal Capital, the city of Fedel, and the dungeon city of Procube.

Well, since there are high-level adventurers in major cities, they can hunt down most monsters to a certain extent. As a result, the only ones left are those with a high subjugation difficulty, which is probably why it turned out this way.

"This is very easy to understand. Thank you for compiling this even though I didn't ask."

"Not at all. This is about all I can do, after all. So, which monster do you intend to subjugate first?"

"Ideally, I feel like I'd want to start by defeating the lower-difficulty monsters, but... I'm thinking of going to the closest city. Which monster is closest to Biodasdal?"

"In that case, it would be the Crimsonroid with sighting reports near the city of Locorante."

"Thank you. I'll head to the city of Locorante right away."

"If you head north along the highway, you'll arrive at the city of Locorante. If you aren't sure, just tell me and I'll mark the location on a map."

"No, I'm fine. Guild Master, you really saved me a lot of trouble."

After thanking the Guild Master, I left the Adventurer's Guild and immediately headed for the city of Locorante. Crimsonroid... huh.

Judging from the wanted poster, I think it's a machine-type monster. I've fought Magic-Driven Soldiers several times, but I've never seen the type depicted on this poster.

Does it look different because it's just an illustration, or is it a new model of Magic-Driven Soldier? I'm looking forward to actually seeing it a little. Depending on the strength of this Crimsonroid, I might call Ginia and Aoi over and consider having the two of them fight it. With that in mind, I advanced towards the city of Locorante.

Running along the highway for about half a day, the city of Locorante came into view. The scale of the city was upper-medium, about the same size as the city of Lightmira where Gree and Anne used to live.

Having passed the gate inspection, I decided to immediately ask about the Crimsonroid at the Adventurer's Guild. The number of stars written on the poster was three.

I suppose that's an indicator that it's decently strong, so I was a little worried whether the Adventurer's Guild had a grasp on it. Even if I search for it myself, since I can't sense the presence of Magic-Driven Soldiers, I think it will take a considerable amount of time. Harboring such anxieties, I asked around at the Adventurer's Guild, but I was able to obtain information far too easily.

"Information on the Crimsonroid? Of course we know about it. There are ruins located to the northeast of this city, and it's said to be inside those ruins."

"Is it not confirmed information?"

"Because entry into the ruins is prohibited. However, there are occasional reports of sightings of the Crimsonroid outside the ruins, so in nine cases out of ten, I believe it does exist."

"Is that so. Then I'll head there right away. Thank you for providing the information."

I thanked the receptionist who gave me the information, and even though I had just arrived, I tried to head to the ruins, but...

"Please wait! As I just said, entry to the ruins is prohibited! Please, under no circumstances, go near them!"

"It's fine, even if I were to die, it would be my own responsibility. ...Is it still not allowed?"

"It is not allowed. If you absolutely must enter, you have no choice but to get permission from the Guild Master."

"I can enter if I have permission from the Guild Master? In that case, could you put a word in with the Guild Master for me? I want to speak with them directly."

"...Understood. I don't know if the Guild Master will agree to see you, but I will pass on the message, so please wait here."

After making a terribly displeased expression, the receptionist disappeared into the back room. She probably thinks some old guy acting like a reckless youth has shown up. If I were in the receptionist's shoes, I'd probably think the same, so this just couldn't be helped.
