[WN] Bocchi Dungeon : Chapter 37

Chapter 37

The Guardian of the Mountain

Without getting bored, I single-mindedly repeated battles for long hours every day over the past few days. Perhaps because it's an 『Ultra Hard Mode』 Dungeon, it was really great not having to worry about a lack of monsters.

There are as many as I want. Therefore, I can hunt as many as I want! Yahoo~. I can do whatever I want in a solo Dungeon.

Thanks to getting magic stones on the Tenth Floor like crazy, I've been able to earn an insane amount of money, earning a total of around 17 million yen. The value of money has already crashed within me. Even so, it's still far from a lump-sum purchase of a tower mansion, and right now I am focusing on reaching Level 10. Besides, perhaps because the amount I'm earning is too large, it somehow doesn't feel real.

Perhaps also because I haven't bought anything particularly expensive, even though I've obtained a large sum of money, I don't feel like a rich person at all. As I thought, it seems I really have to buy paintings and pots and stuff. Anyway, right now experience points are more important than money!

Running all over the vast mountain stage of the Dungeon, I pick fights at random. I launched long-range attacks for practice, and formulated several attack patterns within the flow of close-quarters combat. I'm right-handed and right-footed, but I've become relatively capable of using my left too.

The effect of the equipment that improves combat techniques, 『Ring of Seoritsuhime』, is surely huge. Until now, I had been fighting rather haphazardly, but by consciously thinking while fighting, I feel like I've become able to draw out power I hadn't used before. Even without leveling up, I can actually feel every single ability growing in terms of physical capabilities. Probably, that kind of feeling.

Movement, attack, and defense. To get used to using skills at the same time as using my body, I try various things. I try them out like crazy. In that sense, I'm working the hardest I ever have.

I single-mindedly beat down Wood Golem-kuns, who were practically small fry now, like crazy. Occasionally, perhaps because they were variants, excessively strong Golem-kuns appeared, but they became good training partners, so I was very grateful. Thanks to that, I think I've leveled up quite a bit in areas that don't show up in numbers. And finally.

「Whew~, it's here, it's here! Just one more!」

Looking at the status I had been checking frequently, the experience points required for the next level up had become a mere 86. If I defeat just one more Golem, I'll reach Level 10 and can get my long-awaited Class!

I am about to accomplish it. I really went and accumulated that stupid amount of 1 million experience points!

It's that already. I can absolutely become a Class that everyone will envy. I can become it, this is absolute. A Super Hero or a Super Warrior, a Super Grand Holy Maiden, or perhaps a Great General of the Universe. A super amazing and heel-like (villainous) Class like a Space-Time Dark Knight would be good too, right. I don't really know, but me, who is working hard in 『Ultra Hard Mode』, should be able to become something amazing. Surely! Probably!

Just as I was about to enter a world of delusions, I heard a sound like the earth rumbling... gogogogo.

「What's going on?」

I've never heard of natural disasters inside a Dungeon. Ah, it just means that I, a beginner who doesn't know things, haven't heard of it; it might be a relatively common phenomenon.

While thinking there's no way it's a landslide when it isn't even raining, I started moving toward the transfer circle just in case. Then, the mountain in the direction I was heading moved with a swoosh, didn't it! It wasn't my imagination. Don't tell me it's really a landslide? This is bad.

I ran away to the side with all my might, but somehow the situation is strange. When I stopped and looked at the situation, the raised mountain surface was forming a humanoid shape. Ugeh, I get it now.

「That's probably a scene of a Golem trying to spawn, right.」

It seems to be the moment a super-giant Golem-kun is being born. Amazing. It's the appearance of a boss-like Golem-kun, as if it timed the moment I would become Level 10.

「Nice! I'll overcome you and become Level 10!」

If I can use a big shot like that as prey, the probability of getting an amazing Class will increase too. This is surely a gift from the God of Destiny. I'll welcome it!

Once I decide to do it, my actions are fast. While trotting closer, I fire magical arrows from the Ring of the Strong Bow's Sacred Arrow like crazy. I don't give a damn about the circumstances of the still-transforming Golem-kun. If anything, I'd rather shoot through its core and end it before it gets its posture ready.

However, with only a few days of practice, the accuracy of my long-range attacks is still not high. The combat technique improvement effect from my equipment apparently doesn't apply to the handling of magical arrows. Even so, if I shoot enough, some will hit!

Far more land in the surroundings than hit the target. But because they have strangely high power, the mountain's trees and dirt went flying with a bam bam.

「Shoot, shoot, shoot like crazy!」

I don't care if the terrain changes. It's inside my exclusive solo Dungeon anyway, so it won't bother anyone, and there's no possibility of a third party hiding here either.

Holding my ring-wearing hand in a somewhat proper stance, I fire off magical arrows one after another. Not just as a test or a feint, I continue my attacks with the intention of seriously ending it with just this. Thanks to my equipment, my spirit is quite high. I can still keep going.

「Uoooooooooooooo!」

I want to increase my hit rate more. To do that is simple. I just have to get closer.

While running closer to the giant Golem, I fire magical arrows as if there's no tomorrow. Because of the dirt and smoke rising up flashily, it's already impossible to aim properly. Even so, since it's such a giant body, it should hit decently even with half-assed aim.

Just take this somewhat random attack and drop dead!

「Agh, ptui, ptui!」

A sudden gust of wind blew from the giant Golem-kun's direction, and my whole body was bathed in a massive amount of dust and dirt. Dirt got into my eyes and mouth, oh boy. Even with tears in my eyes, I activated the skill 『Rock-hard Armor』 and took emergency evasive action following a premonition. Right after that, a large boulder landed with a thud exactly where I had been.

「Ooh, that was close.」

If a giant rock like that hit me, it feels like I'd get crushed along with my defensive skill. I definitely don't feel like trying to take that hit. As expected of a boss-like monster trying to prevent my Class acquisition. It's pretty good. But if I defeat just this guy, I can get a Class.

It's exciting. Bring it on!
