[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 87

Chapter 87

The Perfect Superhuman

Translator : PolterGlast

The inside of the Guild Master's office was truly magnificent.

Everything up to this point had been in a different class, but the Guild Master's office was on a level two heads above the rest in terms of luxury.

Partly because the Guild Master's office in Biodasdal was such a messy room, this one seemed all the more incredible.

And sitting in the middle of that room was a woman with red hair who was "super" beautiful.

She was wearing armor, but her chest was so large you could tell even through it.

And yet, her body was slender and muscular, with a perfect figure.

So this woman is the Guild Master of the Royal Capital's Adventurer's Guild, and a former S-rank adventurer.

"Dwayne, you're quite early. You were reluctant until the very end; I thought you might not come."

"I was reluctant because I didn't want to cause trouble for Graham-san. I received his permission, so I came as quickly as I could."

"Fufu, that's a good attitude. You're free to do as you please until everyone gathers. I'll be paying for all of your expenses during your stay."

"What!? Does that mean we can splurge as much as we want!?"

The moment Aoi cut into the conversation between the Guild Masters, the Royal Capital Guild Master's gaze turned to Aoi.

In that instant, Aoi stiffened and straightened her back like a frog stared at by a snake.

Partly because of her large eyes, just her gaze alone carried a lot of pressure.

I could tell from her demeanor that she was a person of great skill, without needing to hear any prior information.

"Fufu, of course, you can splurge as much as you want. What is your name?"

"A-Aoi!"

"Aoi... I see. So you're that Aoi."

"Y-you know of me?"

"Of course. A solo B-rank adventurer is a rare thing."

For some reason, she's using polite language, and she looks happy to be known by name.

...Somehow, the polite language doesn't sit right with me.

"And what is the name of the young lady over there?"

"Huh!? M-me? My name is Ginia!"

"Ginia? ...I'm sorry. I've never heard of you."

"Th-that's only natural, so please don't apologize! I'm just a D-rank adventurer who has only just started!"

Ginia was also flustered, and seeing her, the Royal Capital's Guild Master smiled refreshingly.

From her demeanor to everything else, she's perfect... but just like the Guild Master, I might not be very good at dealing with her.

"And—is the one-armed man over there the 'Graham-san' in question?"

"Yeah, I'm Graham. What's your name?"

"Ah, my apologies. Most people already know who I am, so I forgot to introduce myself. I am the Guild Master of this Royal Capital Adventurer's Guild—Salis von Fraser."

"Then I'll call you Salis from now on. ...Or is 'Salis-san' better?"

"No. Salis is fine."

Salis didn't show any sign of anger, or even of minding, that I had suddenly used her first name.

It seems she really is a broad-minded person.

"Then I'll call you Salis without holding back. Still, you're not making fun of me, Salis. Most people do."

"It's true that I can't sense any strength from you, and you're one-armed and quite old. —But, Graham, you have Dwayne's endorsement. Besides, I am not so vulgar as to make fun of someone I've just met."

"My apologies for that. I heard from the Guild Master that the other Guild Masters were all scum, so I thought you might be the same."

"Hey, Graham-san, that's the kind of thing you're not supposed to say."

The Guild Master was slightly flustered, while Salis was smiling happily.

"Fufufu, I think I understand why Dwayne got angry when you were made fun of. I don't know what it is, but I feel that you have something, Graham."

"It's not 'something'—it's overwhelming strength. But I guess you won't believe it unless you see that skill for yourself."

"Yes, for now, I cannot believe it. ...In any case, thank you for taking the trouble to come all the way to the Royal Capital this time. I will call for you when everyone has gathered, so until then, please enjoy the capital."

"Got it. Then call for us when everyone's here."

And with that, we finished our greetings with Salis, the Guild Master of the Royal Capital, and left the Adventurer's Guild.

She was so perfect there was no opening to take advantage of, and while she's a type I'm not good with, I could tell that Salis is not a bad person.

"Salis-san was so cool! She was incredibly beautiful, and her presence felt like she was no ordinary person!"

"You think so? Well, she did seem strong!"

"You're one to talk, using polite language because you were intimidated. You were like a frog stared down by a snake."

"That's not true! ...But she didn't seem like a bad person at all!"

"Well, Salis is a capable person. I just simply don't like her."

"Is that because of jealousy—or something?"

"Well, yeah. As adventurers, I was A-rank and Salis was S-rank. And as Guild Masters, while I haven't achieved any great results, Salis has already left behind a legacy that is overwhelming even in history. She's a thorn in my side, and that's why I'm not fond of her."

So she's superior in every way.

It's a little pitiful, but anyone would seem inferior compared to Salis.

But... I like our Guild Master better, and I've started to feel like I want to let him win this time.

I don't know what we'll be doing at this gathering, but maybe it's okay for me to get a little serious.

Looking at the dejected Guild Master with his head hanging down, that's what I thought.
