Interlude 11
The Guild Masters' Meeting, Part 2
Translator : PolterGlast
As you can tell from
how he just shouted, Dwayne tend to get heated when it comes to Graham-san.
Being careful not to
lose my composure, Dwayne began a brief explanation for the other Guild
Masters.
"This Graham-san
is an adventurer who recently came to the town of Biodasdal. He is the owner of
incredible skill, which is why I address him with '-san'. That's all there is
to explain."
"If you, a former
A-class adventurer, say so, Dwayne, then this Graham fellow must be truly
incredible. ...That is, if he really exists!!"
"There's really
no information on him. If you acknowledge him, Dwayne-san, then he must have at
least A-rank level skill. For me not to know of him, it would be strange if he
weren't quite young."
"He's not young.
He's a bit younger than me."
"What?? Then he's
just a geezer!! If you're going to lie, at least tell a better one."
"I haven't told a
single lie."
"Fuohohoho. Now
this is getting interesting. Why don't we investigate whether you're really
telling the truth or not?"
All three of them
refused to believe him, and Dwayne was being treated as a complete liar.
While feeling
frustrated, he could still endure being treated as a liar himself.
"If I remember
correctly, we can view the information of adventurers from various cities from
the Royal Capital's Adventurer's Guild, right? The crucial Salis isn't here yet
anyway, so let's look him up to kill some time."
"We probably
shouldn't use it for personal amusement, but since the Guild Master of
Biodasdal is here, there shouldn't be a problem with looking up an adventurer
from Biodasdal. I am also very curious, so allow me to investigate."
"We can see it
from the data storage crystal, can't we? Lunette, go and fetch it. If it's you,
the Royal Capital's guild staff will hand it over without any trouble."
"Understood. I'll
go borrow it."
With that, Lunette
left the conference room to retrieve the data storage crystal.
As they waited while
making idle chatter, Lunette returned with the crystal in less than a few
minutes.
"I was able to
borrow it without any problems."
"As expected of
Lunette! Let's take a look right away!"
The three old men
gathered and began to look up Graham-san's information on the crystal.
Only Dwayne did not
look at the crystal, instead watching the three from a distance, looking
guilty.
"Biodasdal.
Graham... and. Here it is. His name is Graham Ward. Adventurer registration
date is very recent. Age is... forty-two?"
"What!? So he
really is a geezer! Wahaha! You really went out on a limb, Dwayne!"
"Now, now, we
don't know yet. He might have accomplished some great feat."
"............No.
He hasn't accomplished any feat worth mentioning. His current adventurer rank
is E. The only thing that could be called high-difficulty is the subjugation of
the Ogre horde from the emergency quest. His quest completion rate is an
astonishing 100%, but that's only for rookie, E-rank, and that one emergency
quest."
"What the hell is
that! He really is just a small fry geezer! Wahaha! I can't, this is too
funny!"
He knew he shouldn't,
but his irritation towards the three who were mocking and laughing began to
build.
"Fufufu, this is
quite amusing after getting our hopes up. I've gained some good information
today: that you have a sense of humor, Dwayne-san."
"To be so
grateful for someone like this, it seems Biodasdal is in dire need of
adventurers. Fuohohoho. I was irritated that [White Phoenix] was poached, but
thanks to you, Dwayne, my mood has brightened. Fuohoho, thank you for
introducing us to this Graham fellow."
"............If I
just sit here and listen, you'll keep insulting Graham-san. He cut down Ogres
with ease despite having one arm, and burned them to a crisp with magic I've
never even seen before! That's a feat that the adventurers in your cities could
never accomplish!"
"Hey, hey, if you
rub it in too much, it'll get old. If you're being serious, you must be getting
senile! No matter how you look at it, he's just a cocky old man taking
advantage of his 'old rookie' status to complete low-rank quests."
"...If you make
fun of Graham-san again, I'll kill you."
"Don't make me
say it again! He's just a grown old man who's gotten carried away."
"—I'll kill
you."
Just as Dwayne, who
had reached the limit of his patience, drew his sword and lunged at Guanza—.
The door to the
conference room opened, and a woman entered the room.
The first thing that
catches the eye is her large chest.
She is wearing armor,
but her breasts are so large you can tell even through the armor.
And it's not just her
chest; she has slender, long legs, a toned waist, and long, crimson hair that
reaches her hips.
It's not just her
figure; she has large eyes, a well-formed, moderately high nose, and lips like
cherry blossoms.
Her face itself is
small, and she possesses a beauty that would captivate any man.
"What are you
doing, Dwayne. If you're going to get violent, I'll be your opponent."
Hit with her killing
intent, Dwayne stopped his arm mid-swing.
This red-haired woman
was none other than the Guild Master of the Royal Capital's Adventurer's Guild,
and a former S-rank adventurer, Salis.
