[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 133

Chapter 133

The Greatest Family

Translator : PolterGlast

Away from the center of Biodasdal. In a location lined with several large buildings—the Guild Master, who had been guiding me, stopped.

"This is the Greatest family's building. It's far from the city center, but to make up for it, not only is the building large, but the land itself is vast."

"...I'm surprised; it's three times larger than I imagined. Can we really buy such a building?"

"That depends on the negotiation, but leave it to me. For your sake, Graham-san, I'll make it cheap."

The Guild Master said this while thumping his chest. They were nice words, but seeing it with my own eyes, I couldn't possibly imagine it was something we could afford.

"Those are reassuring words, but my anxiety is overwhelmingly greater. Including the size of the land, it's far beyond my expectations."

"Well, it is the home of a noble family ranked within the top three in Biodasdal. Anyway, let's go inside. I received a spare key, so we can look around the inside freely."

"Even entering feels a little daunting. Is there no one inside anymore?"

"Yeah. They've already moved to the Royal Capital, so no one is here. I hear all their belongings have been cleared out too."

Hearing those words, I felt a little relieved. I don't know the first thing about manners, and I can't talk to nobles. Stroking my chest in relief that I wouldn't be turned away at the gate for being rude, I followed the Guild Master and stepped onto the premises.

"Graham-san, where would you like to see first?"

"I'll leave everything to you, Guild Master. I don't know what's what, after all."

"Understood. Let's start by looking at the mansion."

Entering through the gate, we decided to look at the large mansion visible right in front of us first. Opening the door revealed a large entrance hall, leading to a long corridor that split in two directions.

Proceeding straight down that corridor, there were multiple rooms, which according to the Guild Master's explanation, were guest rooms. I wondered what one would do with so many guest rooms, but perhaps because they were influential nobles, they had many visitors. Interpreting it that way as we advanced, we came out into a living room that was far too spacious.

"This is the living room. And in the back is the kitchen."

"It's too spacious. It probably looks even wider because there's no furniture... but you could hold a mock battle in here."

"Hahahaha! That's a very Graham-san-like impression. Well, if you're making it an orphanage, there's no harm in it being spacious."

"That's true, but... there's still an annex and a second floor, right? I feel like it's too big even for an orphanage."

"No, there should be a third floor too. It's my first time here as well, so I won't know until I see it."

This spaciousness on the first floor, and there's a third floor too? My jaw remained dropped, but unaware of my state of mind, the Guild Master continued on briskly.

"There's another room beyond this living room, and stepping out from the window there leads to the garden. You'll understand when you see it, but the garden is spacious enough for a mock battle with multiple people, not just one-on-one."

"Let me take a look. ...Amazing. The garden is also three times wider than I imagined. Since we'll be welcoming children, it's good to have a place where they can move around without leaving the city."

"No doubt. Even with more than ten people, they could run around, so I don't think you'll have trouble in that regard. Well then, let's return to the entrance and proceed down the path that split to the right earlier."

Retracing our steps, we now proceeded down the right-hand path that split from the entrance hall. On the right side were a bathroom and toilet, as well as rooms like a study and storage room, and midway through, there were stairs leading up. It was a spiral staircase, and thinking about children climbing it made me worry a little about injuries... but anyway, everything was outside the norm.

"The second floor basically feels like it's full of rooms. There are no designated rooms, just a row of rooms that can be used freely."

"Including the small rooms, over ten rooms? It looks like Ria, Tricia, and Maud could each have a room of their own."

"I think there will still be leftovers. Then there's a balcony, and also one toilet on the second floor. And... there it is, as expected. This is the staircase leading to the third floor."

The way to the third floor wasn't a proper staircase like the previous one, but a slightly old-fashioned ladder type. It felt like an attic; perhaps it was a place used for emergencies.

"It seems even the Greatest family didn't use the third floor much. The dust is tremendous. Well, it's still properly built, and it feels like there are three large rooms... so using it for storage might be good."

"True, the dust is terrible... but it's wastefully spacious for storage, and the construction is solid. It's wider than the inn I'm living in now, and the room feels nice too."

"In that case, it might be an option for you to live here, Graham-san. There are three rooms, and if you like, how about having Ginia and Aoi live here too?"

"............ If we can buy this place, that might be an option."

It's spacious enough in size, and as the Guild Master says, inviting Ginia and Aoi to live here is an option. Well, if the two of them say they hate living in the same place as me, that's where it ends.

"I want you to decide which rooms to use and how, Graham-san. For now, we've finished looking through the mansion, but what do you think of this property personally, Graham-san?"

"I liked it—or rather, my impression is that it's a property so good it feels presumptuous to say so. If we can really buy this place, I want to decide on it here."

"Fufufu, I'm glad you think so. All that's left is for me to negotiate with everything I have."

I would be truly happy if we could buy this property, but for the Guild Master's sake, I won't hold excessive expectations. Suppressing my excitement, I went around looking at the remaining places with the Guild Master.
