Then Gree joined us, and I told Veronica and Mona
about the events in Lightmira. I thought Anne and Gree's
explanation wouldn't get the point across, but apparently, they knew the name Cruuhamillion.
When they found out I was the one who defeated that Cruuhamillion, the
two of them were quite surprised.
The incident seemed to have caused quite a stir in the world
when it happened, and word of the Cruuhamillion incident had apparently
reached Klingark as well. Just invading the city was a huge deal, and
since it was a strong monster that subjugation forces had failed to defeat,
they said Klingark was also on high alert.
"Considering your ability, Graham, it wouldn't
be surprising if you defeated the Cruuhamillion, but... I was surprised
to hear you subjugated the monster from that famous incident."
"I was surprised that your name hasn't spread, Graham-san.
I heard that the Cruuhamillion was defeated, but I didn't hear the
subjugator's name at all. Among the adventurers in Klingark, there were
even rumors that it hadn't actually been defeated yet."
"I asked them not to talk about me. I don't like
standing out."
"You're weird in that regard too, Graham. Not
very adventurer-like."
"That's the cool part about him! When he saved me, he
didn't ask for anything in return either!"
"It's the same for us! Gree takes a terrible
attitude, but Graham-san is kind!"
Lia and Anne
puffed out their chests proudly while talking about me. It's true that I saved
them purely out of goodwill wanting to help, but it's not like I don't want
anything in return.
"No, I'm properly receiving a return from Lia
and Anne. I have you working here like this, after all."
"Thinking about before we met you, Graham-sama...
this doesn't even count as working!"
"I felt this when we were talking earlier, but you're
really well-liked, Graham. You saved us too, so we understand how Lia
and Anne feel."
"Indeed. If we had met under different circumstances, I
think we would have wanted to work under you too, Graham-san."
I'm happy to be liked, but I'm really not used to being
praised. To change the subject, I'll talk about what's coming up.
"More importantly, how long do you two plan to stay in Biodasdal?"
"Ah, he changed the subject."
"...You don't need to point it out. Just answer the
question."
"We haven't decided on anything specific, but we were
planning to stay for about three days."
"A three-day stay, huh. Have you booked an inn or
something?"
"Nope. We were going to have you introduce us to one, Graham."
"Then I think you should stay here! Ginia-sama
and Aoi-chan will be back around evening too!"
"I would feel bad about that. Coming so suddenly, we
couldn't possibly ask to stay over."
"Ehh! Graham-sama, it's okay for them to stay,
right?"
"If Veronica and Mona don't mind, it's
fine by me. We still have plenty of extra rooms."
"Are you really sure? Then, please let us stay."
"Thanks. Thanks to you, we save on inn fees."
"Yay! I'm going to sleep with Veronica-san and Mona-san!"
"I'll sleep with you too!"
And so, it was decided that they would stay here for the
duration of their visit. The only guys are me and Donny, but they don't
seem to mind much, so it should be fine.
More importantly... Lia and Anne are
incredibly attached to them. Just a moment ago, they were hiding behind my back
and being cautious, but now they're trying to sleep together. Well, it's better
than them being on guard all the time, though.
"If that's the case, Lia and Anne, can
you show them around the house?"
"Yeah, got it! Veronica-san, Mona-san,
let's go!"
"Are we free to look around the house? I'm looking
forward to it."
"Please teach us swordsmanship in the courtyard too!
You're strong, after all!"
"Sure, I don't
mind. I'm not as strong as Graham, but I'm decently strong."
"I wonder who's stronger, you or Aoi-chan! Uuu,
I'm looking forward to everything!"
Lia had an
expression that said she couldn't contain her excitement, and seeing her like
that warmed my heart. It hasn't been that many months since we first met in the
Royal Capital, but I'm genuinely happy that she has recovered her health
so much, both physically and mentally.
"Hm? Why are you grinning, Graham?"
"It's nothing. Let's go out to eat when it gets dark.
Until then, feel free to look around as you like. Please take care of Lia,
Anne, and Gree."
"We're about to be shown around, so I think we're the
ones who will be taken care of. I'm looking forward to the time until dinner,
and I'm looking forward to dinner itself."
"Graham-sama, are we eating out tonight?"
"Yeah. Aoi and Ginia will be back by
evening too. Once they return, let's all decide what to eat."
"Yay! Not only do we get to play with Veronica-san
and Mona-san, but we also get to go out to eat! I'm so happy!"
"Today is a super great day!"
Watching the two of them jump up and down in joy, I smiled, my heart feeling warm once again. Until Aoi and Ginia return, I'll leave looking after the kids to Veronica and Mona, and take it a little easy myself.
