Chapter 193
Bonding
Translator : PolterGlast
Three days had passed since Veronica and Mona
arrived in Biodasdal. The two of them had hit it off with the children
immediately, but over these three days, they had become even closer.
It helped tremendously that they seemed used to handling
children, and because they were both good-looking, Lia and Anne
dropped their guard right away. Only Gree, perhaps because they were
women, didn't seem as attached to them, but they always kept an eye on him and
gave him attention, so he must surely have the impression that they are good
people.
On the first day, after giving them a tour of the house, we
ate dinner together, and from that very first night, Lia and Anne
slept alongside Veronica and Mona. On the second day, with the
children joining us, we guided them around the city of Biodasdal, and in
the evening, we threw something like a party at the house.
On the third day, they spent their time teaching the
children in the courtyard. The instruction from Veronica and Mona,
whose fundamentals were solid, seemed to have been highly beneficial. Through
this training, Gree also completely opened his heart, receiving various
pieces of advice, particularly from Veronica.
"Haa, that was fun. It was different from what I
imagined, but it was a good three days."
"Indeed. The children were adorable; it was very healing. I would have liked to talk a little more with you, Ginia-san,
Aoi-san, and Graham-san, but I shall save that pleasure for when
you three come to visit Klingark."
Having finished their planned three-day stay, Veronica
and Mona packed their bags, looking fully prepared to head home. Lia
and Anne were feeling lonely, shedding a few tears.
"Are you going home already...? I want to play together
a little more."
"Me too. We finally became good friends, and
yet..."
"We'll come to play again. Make sure you get stronger
by then."
"If you repeatedly practice what we taught you, you
will surely become strong. And once you are strong... we can even go on
requests together."
"Requests together!? That sounds like fun!"
"I will definitely get stronger!"
"That's good enthusiasm. You have to practice properly
too, Gree, understood?"
"I know. By the time you come next, I'll have drilled
everything you taught me this time into my body."
"I'm glad our first disciples were good kids."
Seeing the enthusiastic children, Mona nodded
repeatedly. They listen obediently and are eager to train, so I'm sure
instructing Lia and the others is enjoyable.
"Veronica, Mona! Next time we meet, let's
have a mock battle with us too!"
"We weren't able to this time, after all. Next time,
please pay attention to us as well."
"Of course. Come visit Klingark anytime."
"Next time, we will be the ones to welcome you."
"We couldn't look around at all last time because of
the plague commotion, so we're definitely going! I'm looking forward to having
you show us around!"
It seemed they had finished exchanging parting words with Aoi
and Ginia, so it was time to depart. I had one place I wanted to take
them before seeing them off, so we had to leave early schedule-wise.
"Well then, shall we go? I'll see you off to the
outskirts of the city."
"Thank you, Graham-san."
"We're just getting on a carriage, so we don't really
need a send-off, you know."
Mona said
that, but I ushered them outside as if to hurry them. Since the two were
tilting their heads in confusion at my rushing them, I decided to immediately
bring up the place I wanted to show them.
"Actually, before you two head back, there is one place
I want to show you. That's why I hurried you a bit."
"Hm? What's that? You mean a place you can't talk about
in front of Lia and the others?"
"It isn't some sort of lewd establishment, is it?"
"Why would I take you two to such a place? The place I want to show you is where the Wyvern
child... or to you two, the Red Dragon's child, is staying."
"Eh? I thought you said you disposed of the dragon egg?
You hatched it?"
"Yeah. There are various circumstances. I intended to
keep quiet about it to you two as well, but over these three days, I came to
the conclusion that it would be better to tell you."
"I appreciate your trust, but isn't it dangerous?"
"It's not dangerous in the slightest. Anyway, I think
it will be quite shocking in various ways, but I must ask that you keep what
you are about to see strictly confidential. Can you promise me that?"
"Of course. I promise not to tell anyone, but... it's
kind of scary."
"Precisely because you are the one saying it, Graham-san,
I can't shake the feeling that it's an outrageous place. I'm half scared, half
excited."
I think there's a higher possibility they'll be surprised by
Bane and the others rather than the Red Wyvern child. I'm afraid
of what would happen if the old abandoned road exceeds their tolerance and they
end up telling someone, but well, they promised, so it should be fine.
Through the incident in the Royal Capital, the affair
in Klingark, and their three-day stay this time, I judged them to be
individuals worthy of trust. Well, if information does leak because of this,
I'll feel bad for Bane, but I'll have him move to another location.
"In a way, it might be an outrageous place. For now, just
know there is no danger, so please just keep it to yourselves."
"I know, I know. You worry too much."
"We will absolutely not tell anyone, so please rest
assured."
"Yeah. I trust you, so I'll show you."
And so, before seeing the two of them off, I decided to introduce them to the Red Wyvern staying at the old abandoned road. Feeling a little nervous about revealing my secret, I guided the two of them to the old abandoned road.
