Volume 7 Side
Story 4
The Outcome of
the Turmoil
Nozomu, accompanied by Mena and the hounds, came to the residential district and headed straight for Tom's workshop.
As they advanced
between the disorderly rows of private houses, the cabin they had visited just
the other day came into view.
In front of Tom's
workshop, Feo was organizing a pile of wooden boxes.
Noticing Nozomu's
figure, Feo broke into a bright smile.
"Oh, Nozomu, what
brings you here today?"
"FEOOOOOO!"
Letting out a roar
that seemed to echo from the bottom of his stomach, Nozomu charged straight at
Feo.
In an instant, he
grabbed the dazed Feo's hand, twisted it, and restrained his body by pressing
it against a nearby wooden box.
"Uoppu! Why are
you in max anger mode!?"
"You, what did
you do to Somia-chan..."
"Huh?"
"Because of the
cat ear goods you gave her, the entire Francilt family is in a huge uproar
right now!"
The reason Nozomu had
suddenly resorted to force was either because he was at his wit's end from the
repeated commotions, or because of his lack of trust in Feo.
But in response to the
furious Nozomu, Feo's reaction was strangely slow.
"N-No. I don't
get what you're talking about, but what happened?"
To Feo, who insisted
he had no memory of it, Nozomu explained the current situation, albeit with
suspicion.
Early this morning,
Somia had disappeared from the Francilt mansion. As a result of their search,
she was found in a somehow cat-ified state, but had escaped.
As a result, Irisdina
and Victor had gone on a rampage, and both were currently missing.
"So, depending on
the circumstances, there is a high probability that a formal protest will be
lodged by the Francilt family."
"Hey! I don't
know either! The production of those beast ear goods was all handled by Tom,
and I was just gathering the necessary materials for production and looking
around for shops that might be willing to sell them!"
Incidentally,
although the matter of a "protest from the Francilt mansion" had not
been brought up yet, it was a very real possibility.
When Nozomu cornered
him with slightly exaggerated information, Feo began to rattle on in a
flustered manner that he had nothing to do with it. As expected, when it came
to his own profit and loss, this man seemed to get desperate.
On the other hand,
Nozomu, who knew Feo's criminal record all too well, was still glaring at him
with half-closed eyes even after hearing his story. Precisely because he was trustworthy
in a bad way, he couldn't seem to bring himself to believe him.
"...Is that
really true?"
"It's true!
Believe me!"
"Nozomu-sama, for
the time being, I think it would be better to hear the story from Tom-sama."
"Understood. Feo,
don't run."
"I won't run! And
please, can you let go of my arm? I think my joint is about to dislocate."
"If I let go, you
might run, so no."
Nozomu was holding
Feo's arm with a subtle amount of force, just enough to make him wonder if his
joint would dislocate or not. If he were to move even a little carelessly, his
joint would probably dislocate from its own weight.
Nozomu made Feo's body
stand up while still restraining him and made him walk to the entrance of the
workshop. His appearance was like that of a captured criminal.
Perhaps Nozomu had no
intention of releasing him, no matter what answer Feo gave.
"Then why did you
even bother asking?"
"Just a
formality."
Feo, whose shoulders
slumped at the rough treatment he was receiving, reached for the workshop door
with his free hand while hanging his head.
***
When Nozomu and the
others entered the workshop, Tom was diligently making beast ear goods on the
workbench.
He was carving a
formula into the base that would hold the ears, carefully brushing the attached
beast ears, and checking each and every strand of fur. He was truly the image
of a craftsman.
"Huh? Is
something wrong, Nozomu-kun?"
"Somia, wearing
cat ears, has turned into a cat. Do you know anything about it?"
"...Eh?"
Wearing cat
ears and turning into a cat. At the tongue-twister-like explanation, Tom tilted his
head.
Nozomu for the time
being released Feo's restraint and explained the content he had just spoken of
to Tom in detail.
Feo, perhaps not
convinced even after hearing the explanation again, began to argue in a
somewhat confrontational tone.
"That's
impossible. It's true that what I gave her was a prototype, but at most, it
would just twitch with the wearer's magic power, for it to turn into a real
cat..."
"..."
Feo picked up a
sheep's ear that was nearby, tapped it, and pouted with a dissatisfied look.
On the other hand, Tom
was for some reason silent, his gaze darting around.
"Tom, why are you
so quiet?"
"Eh, umm..."
"You know
something, don't you?"
At Mena's sharp words,
a single bead of sweat ran down Tom's forehead.
The expression of the
fuming Feo froze, and he dropped the sheep's ear he was holding to the floor.
"N-No, I didn't
think it would turn out like this, you know? It uses a little more magic power,
but there shouldn't be any problem with the human body... And besides..."
In a faltering manner,
Tom desperately tried to explain himself. It seemed that he was the cause of
this incident.
"J-J-U-S-T! Spit
it out!"
"Y-Yes!"
Tom, who had
straightened his posture as if he was struck by lightning at Nozomu's roar,
began to recount the details of the matter in a strangely clear tone.
***
"So, you're
saying that while you were continuing to research a formula to reproduce a
cat's movements, you accidentally created a cat-ification formula?"
"Yes..."
"And then, even
though you knew you couldn't use it now, you thought it was a waste to discard it,
so you carved the formula into the cat ears?"
"Yes..."
"And you gave
that prototype to Somia when she came to buy new cat ears?"
"That is
correct..."
With a deep sigh,
Nozomu let out a long breath.
From what he had
heard, the cat ears in question were apparently a product born from Tom's
research fever getting too carried away.
The course of events
was as follows.
Tom had first
completed the first prototype of the cat ears and had given them to Somia. Feo
also knew about this, as he had been present at the time.
After that, Tom
gradually began to make various types of beast ear goods.
However, Tom, as a
result of prototyping for a whole day, trying to see if he could reproduce a
cat's movements even further, had accidentally created a cat-ification formula.
However, the created formula could not be used as a product now.
However, thinking it
was a waste to discard it, he, in the heat of having pulled an all-nighter, had
created a cat-ification cat ear goods as a second prototype, with an appearance
identical to the first.
Initially, Tom had
intended to keep the second prototype in his workshop for a while, but he had
come to feel an aversion to the fact that he couldn't experiment with it just
by prototyping it, and above all, that his own work would be gathering dust in
a warehouse.
And, without telling
Feo, he had given that second prototype to Somia, who had happened to come to
the workshop in search of new cat ears.
"Why did you give
it to her..."
"Well, Somia-chan
was asking me so seriously, 'Isn't there anything that can make me get along
better with cats!', and I also didn't want the thing I had worked so hard to
make to gather dust in a warehouse...
And besides, it wasn't
supposed to be something that would completely turn her into a cat. At most,
her tone and gestures were supposed to become cat-like..."
According to Tom's
story, the formula that was carved was not that powerful originally.
However, in reality,
Somia had completely turned into a cat.
"What's the cause
of Somia-chan's complete cat-ification?"
"The formula
that's being used is a type of hypnosis magic. It makes a person's subconscious
part temporarily mimic the gestures of a cat. That's why the movements of a cat
are arranged at the end of words or in small habits.
But if that formula
were to work strongly..."
"That person's
consciousness and movements would all turn into a cat's?"
"Yeah..."
Perhaps Somia had
tried on the cat ears she had just bought in her own room at night.
At that time, for some
reason, the formula carved into the cat ears had become stronger, and as a
result, that Somia-cat was born.
"What's the
reason the formula became stronger?"
"The formula that
interferes with a person's subconscious is in the beast ear part, but the part
that supplies the magic power is in the tail. Since both are special formulas,
it's possible that this happened as a result of the two formulas interfering
with each other."
"So, what's the
solution?"
"I think it would
be fine if you just remove either the cat ears or the tail."
For now, he knew how
to turn Somia back to normal.
The problem was how to
catch the cat-ified Somia.
"Tom-sama, the
movements of the cat-ified Lady Somilliana were so agile that they were
unthinkable for the usual young lady. Is that also related to the
formula?"
"Yes. Perhaps,
with her consciousness having turned into a cat's, she might be instinctively
using the power that a person doesn't usually use unconsciously, and the magic
that she has learned."
"Come to think of
it, Somia-chan was as fast as a real cat..."
Nozomu remembered the
Somia he had just encountered.
Her jumping ability,
which was enough to easily jump over a person, might have been a part of her
hidden talent.
With such physical
ability, it would not be easy to catch her.
And she was the young
lady of the Francilt family. Even if he were to ask for the cooperation of the
military police, if the other party were a high-ranking noble lady, it would
also be difficult to capture her by force.
If he were to injure
her, he didn't know what the doting head of the family would say. That was also
the same for the people of the Francilt family.
That being said, they
couldn't afford to take their time either. Although the public order in Arcazam
was not bad, there were always people in any city who would think of doing bad
things.
If Somia were to be
caught by such a person...
They had to capture
her as peacefully and as quickly as possible.
"Ever since the
young lady was young, I have taught her not only etiquette and dance but also
magic as a hobby, but I never expected something like this would happen..."
Mena was covering her
face with both her hands and looking up at the ceiling. She herself had
probably never expected that as a result of her own education, such a
difficult-to-capture cat girl would be born.
"Then it would be
better to lure her out."
"Do you have a
way?"
"Just so you know,
how do you think we've been gathering materials?"
Saying that, Tom
brought a bag large enough to hold with both hands from the back of the
workshop.
He placed the bag he
had brought on the table, took out several bags from inside, and handed one of
them to Nozomu.
"In this bag are
tools that we've been using to catch cats, like catnip and cat teasers. If we
use these tools skillfully, we might be able to catch Somia-chan."
"I see."
When Tom and the
others were producing the beast ears, they had been collecting high-quality
animal fur. The tools they had used at that time were apparently in this bag.
Tom casually took out
some catnip from the bag.
Although it was in the
state of unprocessed wood, it should still be an irresistible item for cats.
Incidentally, catnip
is more effective on cats if it is in a powdered form, as the scent is more
prominent.
"And the problem
is, where is Somia-chan now..."
"Considering that
she's running away from my lord and the others' pursuit, she probably isn't in
the commercial district. The residential district, the administrative district,
or the artisan district..."
"Or a place where
she can escape to any of them."
"Then, the
central park?"
This Arcazam was built
with Solminati Academy and the central park that surrounds it in the middle,
and each district was built in a circle in all four directions.
If it were the central
park, she would be able to quickly escape into any district.
"Well then, let's
go."
With Mena's remark as
a trigger, Nozomu and the others left the workshop and headed for the central
park.
***
Nozomu and the others,
who had come to the central park to search for Somia, for the time being, split
up and began to search for her.
However, since the
central park covered the entire circumference of Solminati Academy, it was
quite large.
Nozomu walked around,
searching under benches and in the depths of bushes.
However, there was no
sight of Somia. All there were were couples with children and elderly couples
who had come for a walk. In the shadow of the unseen bushes, there was also a
presence that seemed to be a couple whispering words of love.
However, since there
were human presences from all over, Nozomu also did not know if Somia was in
this park.
He probably had no
choice but to check each and every presence he felt, but if he were to stumble
upon a couple's love scene, it would be awkward.
However, he couldn't
just not check. While walking, Nozomu began to check the presences he had felt.
"I wonder if
Somia-chan is here?"
When Nozomu muttered
such words while walking, he noticed a gaze that was peeking at him from the bushes.
When he slowly peeked
at the state of the bushes where he had felt the gaze, a black tail popped out
from between the green plants and trees.
Furthermore, a head
with cat ears attached popped out.
"She's really
here..."
While being surprised
that Somia was really in this park, Nozomu fumbled in his bag and took out a
piece of catnip wood.
And after placing the
taken-out wood on the ground, he stepped back a few steps from there.
Somia, while staring
at the placed wood, was slowly coming out of the bushes, while furtively
peeking at Nozomu from time to time.
And after approaching
the catnip with a wary step or two, she began to sniff it.
However, perhaps she
had lost interest after sniffing the catnip wood a little, as she quickly moved
away from that spot.
"Huh? It's not
working?"
At the fact that the
catnip was not working at all, Nozomu tilted his head.
But that was also a
matter of course.
Even if humans were to
ingest catnip, they would not become drunk like a cat. Naturally, no matter how
much she was under the self-hypnosis of a cat, the effect that a real cat would
have would not appear in the human Somia.
Having no choice,
Nozomu thrust his hand into the bag again.
What came out was a
long-handled cat teaser. He tried waving it in front of Somia's eyes.
"Here,
here~"
"Nyau!"
"Ah, it
broke..."
The moment Somia
pounced on the cat teaser, the handle had snapped from her weight.
No matter how light
she was, Somia's weight was nearly ten times that of a cat. It was natural for
it to break if she pounced on it.
Having no choice,
Nozomu thrust his hand into the bag a third time. However, what came out were
only things that were more useless than the previous one.
A scratching board, a
small cage for capturing, dried meat, and even a pot with a handle and a lid
came out.
"Why a pot? Am I
supposed to make a cat hot pot with this?"
At the
one-after-another useless items, Nozomu was bewildered.
At that moment, Nozomu
felt something soft and fluffy touch his feet.
"Huh?"
"Fumyaa~~"
Before he knew it,
Somia was right at his feet.
She let out a purr,
raised her tail straight up, and began to rub her own body against him while
circling around him.
"..."
Nozomu, so as not to
startle Somia as much as possible, slowly dropped his hips and sat on the
ground.
Somia stopped circling
around Nozomu and sat down in front of him on the ground.
"Could it be, if
I do this well, I can catch her just like this..."
While thinking about
that, Nozomu slowly extended his hand to the Somia who was sitting in front of
him.
Then, Somia sniffed
the extended finger of Nozomu and began to lick it.
"Myau..."
Somia licked the
extended finger of Nozomu two or three times, then began to rub her face
against it with a purr.
Nozomu then turned his
palm over and began to stroke Somia's throat and cheeks, and she narrowed her
eyes blissfully.
At the loveliness of
the Somia-cat, Nozomu's heart skipped a beat.
A strange sensation he
had never felt before. However, it was by no means a bad feeling. Rather, it
was a heartwarming feeling.
Even when Nozomu
stroked her hair or put his hand on the back of her neck, Somia did not run
away. On the contrary, as if to say, "More, more!", she was pushing
her face against his hand.
(Oh no, she's cute...)
At the cuteness of the
Somia-cat, Nozomu's cheeks relaxed. For a moment, he was on the verge of
forgetting about capturing her, but he held it in and waited for an
opportunity.
But at that moment,
someone's shadow came into the corner of Nozomu's vision.
Wondering who it could
be, Nozomu raised his face, and there was the figure of Irisdina, with her eyes
wide open as if she had seen something unbelievable.
"Ah..."
Nozomu's hand, which
had been stroking Somia, stopped in spite of himself.
The cat girl tilted
her head as if to say, "Why did you stop?", and then licked Nozomu's
hand as if to urge him on.
"Oh-oh
no..."
On the other hand,
Nozomu was breaking out in a cold sweat.
If Irisdina were to
raise her voice, there was no doubt that Somia would run away.
And he didn't know
what kind of questioning he would receive from the siscon Irisdina after that.
The eyes of the
wide-eyed Irisdina were gradually beginning to well up with tears, and her entire
body was trembling.
The moment Irisdina's
mouth opened wide, and a roar was about to echo in the area.
"N-Nozo~~mph!"
"Lady Irisdina,
excuse me."
Mena, who had quickly
circled behind her, covered Irisdina's mouth. Furthermore, Mena held Irisdina
from behind, who was about to charge at Nozomu.
"Mmph~!
Mmph~!"
"Young lady, I'm
sorry, but please be quiet. Nozomu-sama, please leave this to me."
Mena-san,
nice! Nozomu couldn't help but shout that in his heart and gave a thumbs-up
with one hand.
Mena, while quietly
admonishing the struggling Irisdina, who had her mouth covered, whispered a few
words in her ear.
Then, the movements of
the rampaging Irisdina stopped in a flash.
Next, when Mena
whispered something in her ear, this time she had an expression as if she had
fallen into despair, with her eyes wide open.
Nozomu could not hear
what Irisdina had been told by Mena, but the sign of her making any more noise
had faded.
Perhaps feeling that
there was no need to restrain the slumped-shouldered Irisdina, Mena had already
released her restraint.
"No, you don't
have to make a face like it's the end of the world..."
"Uuu~"
"Ah, sorry."
Nozomu, who had been
tilting his head at Irisdina's changing expression, was urged on by Somia, who
was groaning with a dissatisfied voice at his stopped hand, and began to pet
her again.
In the meantime,
Irisdina was pulled by Mena and was taken into the shadow of the bushes so that
she could not be seen by Somia.
"Nyah~~"
"Ah!?"
Every time Somia let
out a purr, Irisdina's voice could be heard from the shadow of the bushes. It
seemed she was properly peeking at Nozomu and Somia.
As for Nozomu,
although he was embarrassed as if he were in the middle of a public display of
affection, he suppressed his embarrassed heart and continued to pet Somia.
The gaze of
condemnation directed at Nozomu from the shadow of the bushes was gradually
growing stronger.
"I-If I can catch
her peacefully, then it's fine, isn't it..."
Although Nozomu tried
to say such a line with a trembling voice, the gaze of condemnation from
Irisdina from the depths of the bushes did not weaken and was scraping away at
Nozomu's spirit.
On the other hand, the
petted Somia was in a dream-like state. She had completely let her guard down
and was letting Nozomu pet her.
"I can get them
now..."
He slowly extended his
other hand and brought it close to Somia's head.
And after measuring
the distance, he at once grabbed the cat ears on her head.
"Ei!"
"Fumya?"
Somia, who had had her
cat ears taken, the strength left her upper body, and she swayed while sitting.
Eventually, she slowly
sat up and turned her unfocused eyes, as if she had just woken up, to Nozomu.
"Umm, nya-good
morning~~"
"Good morning,
Somia-chan. It's already noon, though."
Perhaps the effect of
the cat-ification had not completely worn off, as the ends of her words were
drawn out.
However, it might also
be the effect of lack of sleep.
She had disappeared
from the mansion last night. If she had been wandering around Arcazam since
then, her body should have been exhausted.
However, for now, he
had managed to turn her back from her cat-ification.
With this, the
commotion would probably subside, Nozomu let out a sigh of relief.
"Huh~? Why am I
here~"
"W- well, a lot
happened."
Somia, perhaps not
understanding why she was in the park, was looking around.
However, her lack of
sleep seemed to have reached its peak. Even while sitting, her upper body was
swaying, and more than half of her consciousness was dozing off.
"Alright, Somia!
If you're awake, then we're going home! Right now, quickly and swiftly!"
With Somia having
returned to normal, there was no longer a need to hide, and Irisdina jumped out
from the bushes.
She was urging Somia
to go home, but the crucial Somia was already at her limit.
"Fumyuu~~. I'm
still sleepy~~"
"Ah..."
"Aaaah!?"
The swaying Somia's
body fell with a thud and landed on Nozomu's legs.
Somia then wriggled
her body and placed her own head on Nozomu's thigh. So-called, a lap pillow.
"Fumyuu~. Good
night~"
Somia, who had secured
Nozomu's thigh, then departed for the world of dreams.
On the other hand,
Irisdina approached Somia with an indignant look.
"Hey Somia! Don't
sleep in a place like that! How embarrassing and enviable!"
"No, Iris, what
are you talking about?"
Although Irisdina was
spouting incoherent words, the crucial Somia was letting out a pleasant snore
on Nozomu's lap pillow.
Although Irisdina
slapped Somia's cheek and shook her, perhaps she was so tired, as there was no
sign of her waking up at all.
"Kuh...
Nozomu!"
"Well, even if
you glare at me like that..."
When she realized that
calling out to Somia was pointless, Irisdina's spearhead turned to Nozomu.
Nozomu tried to let go
of Somia for the time being to calm Irisdina down, but the crucial Somia was
firmly gripping Nozomu's pants and clothes, and he could not let go.
Having no choice,
Nozomu, while giving Somia a lap pillow, desperately continued to soothe
Irisdina while suppressing a sigh for what seemed to be the umpteenth time today.
***
In the evening,
Nozomu, who had returned to his dorm room, reached for the doorknob of his own
room with a look of utter exhaustion.
After falling
completely asleep in the central park, Somia had been sound asleep for about
two hours.
Mena had also called
out to help calm Irisdina down, but it had no effect on the excited Irisdina,
and to top it all off, Victor had come, having heard the commotion.
Naturally, the moment
he found Nozomu giving Somia a lap pillow, Victor's anger had reached its peak,
and he was about to pounce on Nozomu while letting out a strange cry.
Having no choice, Mena
had intercepted Victor. A big commotion had broken out. It had eventually
turned into a commotion that even the military police had come.
Although there were no
injuries, let alone property damage, and in the end, everyone had gotten off
with just a stern warning, Nozomu was mentally in tatters.
Incidentally, Tom, who
was the source of the commotion, and Feo, who had been handling his products, was
reprimanded by the military police, and all the products they had made was
confiscated. Although they had also been glared at by Somia's father as if they
were an enemy, for some reason, they were later seen with their arms around
Victor's shoulders with a broad smile.
Next to them, who were
standing with their arms around each other's shoulders, Mena was standing with
a smile on her lips, but Nozomu had no way of knowing what kind of deal was
made, nor did he want to know.
"Hah, that was a
lot. Let's just go to sleep for today..."
Along with a sigh,
Nozomu turned the doorknob and opened the door.
The next moment,
Nozomu's body froze.
"..."
Perhaps unable to
believe the sight before him, Nozomu was blinking his eyes with the door open.
It wasn't as if his
own room was ransacked. Although there were still few things, the room was
still relatively tidy.
Yes, nothing had
changed.
Except for one thing.
Irisdina, who was sitting in the middle of the room with fluffy dog ears and a
tail attached, was looking at Nozomu.
"...What is the
meaning of this?"
"W-Woof."
Nozomu's brain seemed
to have temporarily frozen at this situation.
To the words that had
unintentionally come from his mouth, the Irisdina-dog's only answer was
"woof."
After taking a breath,
the finally rebooted Nozomu put his finger to his temple and tried to somehow
understand this situation.
Irisdina, in the guise
of a dog, was staring intently at Nozomu, sitting on the floor with her bottom
on the ground, as if she were a dog that had been told to wait.
A tone and expression
that made one feel a certain sadness and shame. Her pure white skin was faintly
tinged with a crimson color.
Furthermore, the tail
on her bottom was wagging lightly.
A gesture so different
from her usual dignified expression, like a pet dog that was reunited with its
long-awaited master, Nozomu couldn't help but...
"Cute... No, no,
that's not it!
Iris-san, what are you
doing with those dog ears? And by the way, what are you thinking, sneaking into
the boys' dormitory?"
Nozomu for the time
being entered the room and closed the door. He couldn't have the dormitory
students see something like this. Nozomu had also had enough of any more loud
commotions.
"W-Woof
woof..."
"It's not 'woof
woof.' The only animal-transforming beast ears are the cat ears, so you're not
turning into a dog. Come on, if you don't hurry home..."
"Kuu~n..."
"No, you don't
have to look at me with those abandoned puppy-like eyes..."
Irisdina's eyes
suddenly welled up with tears. Although Nozomu himself shouldn't have done
anything wrong, he was seized by a tremendous sense of guilt.
He had to somehow get
Irisdina to go home... At Nozomu, who was thinking so, perhaps having lost her
patience, Irisdina put on a dissatisfied expression and suddenly bit the sleeve
of the clothes that Nozomu was wearing.
"Uu~, hamu!"
"Hey, Iris-san.
What are you doing all of a sudden!"
Irisdina, who had
Nozomu's sleeve in her mouth, was crawling on all fours, dragging Nozomu to her
destination.
The place she had
arrived at was by Nozomu's bed. She released the hem of his clothes from her
mouth and tapped the edge of the bed with her front 'paw?'.
"S-Sit?"
"Woof!"
Without understanding
well, Nozomu sat down on the edge of the bed.
"I-I sat down,
but what in the world... huh!?"
Irisdina sat down next
to Nozomu and then flopped onto his lap.
"Hey, what are
you doing!"
"Uuu~~~!
Uu~!"
"No, please speak
in human language."
The sudden weight he
felt on his lap. And at the sweet smell of a girl, Nozomu couldn't help but try
to stand up.
However, Irisdina
growled with a dissatisfied look and firmly gripped Nozomu's thigh so as not to
let him go.
To Irisdina, who was
groaning while gripping his pants, Nozomu let out a sigh and lowered the hips
he was about to raise.
Then, in a voice so
small it was on the verge of disappearing, Irisdina muttered.
"...Unfair."
"Eh?"
"Just Somia, it's
unfair."
"Well, even if
you say it's unfair..."
Not knowing how to
reply, Nozomu scratched his head. On the other hand, Irisdina said nothing more
and was puffing out her cheeks with a sullen face.
Her tail was also
tapping Nozomu's upper arm, as if to say, "Pay attention properly."
"Hah, it can't be
helped."
With an exasperated
look on his face, Nozomu began to stroke Irisdina's head, just as he had done
for Somia.
"...More
gently."
"Yes,
yes..."
As per the princess's
order, Nozomu stroked her as slowly as possible, as if combing her hair.
Nozomu's rough hands
slowly flowed over Irisdina's smooth hair.
Irisdina's tail, which
had been wagging with a dissatisfied look, gradually became quiet, and her
ears, which had been drooping, began to twitch.
"Ehehehe..."
From the mouth of
Irisdina, who had been complaining until just before, an alluring voice leaked.
Irisdina curled up her
body as if to say, "More...", and snuggled up to Nozomu's thigh. That
gesture was a spitting image of her younger sister's.
"Were you always
this clingy?"
"It's Nozomu's
fault."
"Eh?"
"It's Nozomu's
fault."
"Why..."
"If I say it's
your fault, it's your fault."
With a full-on clingy
attitude, Irisdina was giving an answer that was not an answer.
Although the words
that were returned were so incoherent that they were unbecoming of her usual
self, a natural smile appeared on Nozomu's lips.
"Yes, yes, I
understand. It was my fault."
As he said that,
Nozomu continued to stroke Irisdina's head. More slowly than before, as if to
cherish each and every stroke.
"Ehehehe..."
While looking at
Irisdina, who had a blissful, dazed smile, Nozomu also, for a while, enjoyed
the pleasant weight on his lap and the sensation of her hair.
