[WN] A Hero From a Remote Village : Chapter 75

Chapter 75

Wasteful Spending

Translator : PolterGlast

I was able to heal the Ancient Dragon's breath, so I'm sure I can heal muscle damage without any problem.

With that thought, I cast healing magic on Aoi.

"I just used healing magic. How's your body feeling?"

"............Huh? I can move without any problem! Ahh! I forgot that you can use healing magic, Graham! And that you're dozens of times more of a monster than I imagined...! I broke into my savings to buy a ton of healing potions, and it would've been free if I just asked you!"

The damage from having wasted money on healing potions up until now seems to be greater than the joy of her [Limit Break] succeeding in a real battle, as Aoi collapsed to her knees, holding her head.

It seems the shock of her wasteful spending is greater than the joy of her successful one-hit KO.

"I noticed you were practicing something in secret, but I didn't realize you were using healing potions to do it. If you had just consulted me a little, I would have offered to help."

"B-but... isn't it better to use it in a real fight right away!?"

"I don't understand what you mean by 'better'."

"I understand how Aoi-chan feels!"

Ginia began to console Aoi, who had collapsed to her knees.

I still don't really get it, but it seems she can move without any problems now, so maybe we should switch gears and move on.

"We still have some distance to go to get to the Silver Golem horde. You can be depressed while we walk."

"That's so mean! ...But if we stop, we'll have to camp out. I guess I'll just forget about the money and move on."

"You were able to see the results of your training, so let's switch gears! The main thing is the Silver Golem up ahead!"

"...You're right! Moping around won't bring back the money for the potions, so I'll switch gears!"

"That's the Aoi-chan I know! I can't lose to you either!"

They composed themselves and started to advance through the cave.

After entering the cave, the frequency of monster appearances increased dramatically, and Ginia and Aoi took turns defeating the monsters they encountered.

Ginia finished them off with a single counter, just as she had in Hest Forest, while Aoi used [Limit Break] to put the monsters down.

Now that she can use it with virtually no demerit thanks to my healing magic, Aoi's movements have become incredibly vicious.

Her original style was to toy with her opponent with swift movements and attack with a flurry of blows, so now that she's obtained a powerful single strike, she has a stability that could be called an awakening.

I haven't seen any change in Ginia from last time, but I can tell she's trying something, so I think she'll show me something in the Silver Golem fight.

Satisfied with this situation where I get to watch the growth of these youngsters from a ringside seat, we advanced through the cave for an hour.

We finally arrived at the back of the cave where the Silver Golem horde was.

"The Silver Golems are just ahead. Are you two okay on stamina?"

"I'm fine. I've been conserving my strength up until now!"

"I got carried away and used my skill over and over, but... I still have stamina left! I can smash about five of them!"

"Then let's go. There are eighteen in total. Seventeen Silver Golems, and one Gold Golem. I'm planning on having you two defeat five Silver Golems each, so get ready."

"Yes, I'm ready!"

"I'm ready too! I'll make up for my failure in the Berserk Bear fight right here!"

With the two of them fired up, we stepped into the open area where the Silver Golem horde was.

It was a place so wide that a single [Light] spell couldn't illuminate it all.

It seems the ceiling has an opening from an earthquake or something, so it would have been possible to descend from above.

I didn't know there was a hole.

Well, we had some meaningful battles on the way, so let's just think of it as a good result in the end.

The problem is the Silver Golems. Ten of them are in view.

They don't even give us a glance as we appear, just single-mindedly eating ore.

"...They're not attacking. Is it because we're not wearing any noteworthy precious metals?"

"Huh? I think I'm wearing a fair bit! This dagger is an expensive one."

As she said that, the moment Aoi drew her dagger from its sheath—.

All the Golems stopped moving and turned only their heads towards us.

Their eyes were shining red, and their inorganic nature made them look particularly eerie.

Recognizing us as prey, the Silver Golems started to move and slowly approached us.

I cast an additional [Light] spell, and two [Light]s illuminated the area.

With our vision secured... the battle with the Silver Golems began.
