[WN] Shut-In : Chapter 43

Chapter 43

Way of Doing

Translator : PolterGlast

The Null Zombie's movements are quite fast.

I feel like it only took about two seconds to crawl out of the hole, so it probably has quite a lot of arm strength.

Null Zombies are also very fast, and even if you kill them, they kept moving for a while and magic doesn't even work on them... no matter how you think about it, they are completely shitty monsters.

"Ubowa..."

"Ubowo..."

What's more, that voice from earlier seems to have been counted as a roar, and three new holes have already opened around it, and Null Zombies are about to appear from inside.

It seems pretty tough if I don't clean it up quickly.

"Lightning Bolt"

After preparing to escape to my home as usual, I release a Lightning Bolt for the time being.

Seeing is believing, so I decided to try hitting the Null Zombie with magic once.

Then, the lightning that went towards it with a crackling sound disappeared without a sound just before it hit the Null Zombie.

I see... it's the type that nullifies and erases the magic itself.

I wonder if this will work.

The Null Zombies are coming towards me.

While dragging their feet, their speed is only slightly inferior to that of the Grim Reaper.

If I stay still, I don't seem to have enough room to use magic many times.

"Well then, let's do it."

The magic I activate is--Item Box.

And what I take out from inside is the iron shield that the Skeleton Soldier was using.

I'll be using this one this time.

"Railgun"

The magic I've used the most since I came to this Alistella.

Now, it hardly takes any time to prepare for magic activation.

I can perform almost seamlessly from kneading magic power, drawing a line to the opponent, and then activating it.

I put the iron shield I just took out on the line and released it.

The shield flies while rotating at high speed, receiving electromagnetic acceleration from the railgun.

Just as the surface began to melt, it approached the Null Zombie coming towards me.

The distance is getting closer, 10 meters, 5 meters... I swallow my saliva.

As I watch nervously... the iron shield hits the Null Zombie perfectly.

"--Yosh!"

The shield hit the Null Zombie while making an unfamiliar sound and although it slowed down a bit, it continued to fly, crashing into the tombstone.

Meanwhile, the Null Zombie, which was sandwiched between them, was severed into two parts, upper and lower.

I don't have the leeway to see how long it can move after death.

I use the item box again and take out two iron shields.

This time, it's a large shield that the Skeleton Knight was using, which is a size larger than the one from earlier.

Draw a line... and fire.

Then draw a line to another one... and fire.

The large shield on the railgun line started moving slowly as if rolling at first.

The contrast between that leisurely movement and the Null Zombies rapidly approaching me made me feel a little uneasy.

But while rotating around the line, the large shield accelerated.

While using the lightning around it to its advantage, it continued to accelerate, and its movement speed increased rapidly.

And... crash.

While making an unpleasant sound, it blew away the Null Zombie's body while breaking it into pieces.

I see, if it's a large shield, the impact is too great, so it blows the opponent away.

The Null Zombies are blown away quite far while the front half of their bodies are crushed.

I observed three of them, including one that hit a tombstone and whose upper and lower bodies separated.

The zombie whose upper body was separated had already stopped moving.

The Null Zombies whose front half of their bodies were crushed were repeatedly attacking their surroundings.

The gravestone that was grazed by the attack was greatly gouged, and the gravestone that was directly hit was blown away greatly.

The tombstones that were grazed by the zombies' attacks were greatly gouged, and the ones that were directly hit were blown away.

What an incredible power.

If that's combined with paralysis... it seems that the difficulty will increase at once if we fight in close combat.

"For now, I'm glad that I can manage somehow..."

I breathe a sigh of relief when I see the Null Zombies, which had been moving around for about a minute, fall down.

It seems that I can handle the battle with the Null Zombies without any problems, so I'm relieved.

--The strategy I came up with is simple.

I named it the "If magic doesn't work, just blow it away with physical force" strategy.

Please don't mention my naming sense.

I'm aware that I have no sense.

When I asked Varietta-san about how to defeat the Null Zombies, he said something like this.

[I was able to defeat it somehow by having Strength cast on me and strengthening my attack.]

When I heard that, I thought.

Even if magic doesn't work, a sword strengthened by magic will work.

Once I get to that point, the rest is easy.

If that's the case, then if I physically attack with something accelerated by magic, I should be able to connect the damage without any problems, don't you think?

From my point of view, who uses railguns a lot, it was natural to come to this conclusion.

And what was the result...? I found out that I could fight without any problems.

It seems that Null Zombies also have the characteristic of corroding equipment like zombies, but it doesn't matter much because the shield's original shape is gone when it's launched by the railgun.

Even if it becomes unusable, I still have stocks of shields.

If it runs out, I can replenish it on the seventh floor.

However, this eighth floor... it's hard to move, but it's perfect for leveling up.

When I checked my status, my LV had increased by 2 in the current battle.

Once I set up a door near the ninth floor, I'll hunt Null Zombies.

It's a kind design that allows you to keep fighting because it will come to you on its own if you wait until it roars.

Now that I know that my level will increase rapidly, I don't mind this stench at all.
