Capital Dungeon 8th Floor Boss Runs

For the past few days,
I have been guiding soldiers and servants in acquiring their jobs. The soldiers
had largely achieved their target jobs. However, among the five who aimed to
become Bow Masters, three were still stuck, unable to clear the acquisition
conditions.
Apparently, achieving
30 consecutive one-hit kills was difficult. Sometimes the hit wouldn't reduce
HP enough, or they'd miss, breaking the streak. Well, even if they failed, they
could always try again, so there were endless chances. As long as they achieved
30 consecutive one-hit kills in the end, it was fine. And since the acquisition
condition wasn't limited to the Villager job, there was also the option of
changing to Bowman first, and then trying for 30 consecutive one-hit kills. In
fact, I thought it was a stroke of luck that two of them had already acquired
Bow Master.
As for the servants,
many were originally farmers and had already changed to the Farmer job before I
purchased them as slaves. I listened to their wishes and had them become
farmers, then tasked them with cultivating fields in the unnecessarily vast
grounds of the mansion. I had Rose, so any plant could grow if I had the seeds,
but I entrusted them with the fields, thinking it would be good camouflage.
In addition, I was
guiding everyone to be able to change jobs to Butler, Maid, Cook, Gardener,
Stablehand, and Coachman.
Basically, Butlers and
Maids require a lot of time as they must acquire various knowledge in addition
to etiquette.
For Cooks, if one has
over 100 cooking recipes, they can change jobs. So, Itsukushima-san and I
recalled over 100 recipes from our past lives and prepared them. Now, if the
three who wish to become Cooks learn those recipes, they should be able to
acquire the Cook job.
For Gardeners,
Stablehands, and Coachmen, I couldn't obtain any shortcut information, so I
wanted them to steadily clear the acquisition conditions.
Oh, right. I'd been
having the soldiers and servants learn reading, writing, and arithmetic, and
one individual, the orphan Sodon, exhibited unexpected talent. Itsukushima-san
and Solidia were collaborating to teach them, and Sodon showed remarkable
aptitude in arithmetic. He learned basic arithmetic operations in just a few
days, and Itsukushima-san was now teaching him more advanced mathematics. I
probably wouldn't be surprised if he surpassed me in mathematics soon. Although
he appears somewhat vacant, Sodon seems to be quite sharp. He might be a
genius.

Today, I intended to
enter the dungeon after several days. I planned to fight the 8th-floor boss
consecutively. Grissom should be emerging soon, but it was uncertain if it
would be today, tomorrow, or a few days later. I planned to vent that waiting
frustration on the 8th-floor boss. My party members were me, Anneliese,
Gandarvan, Jojok, Lin, and Rosalina.
Bath, Solidia, Colon,
and Karon would be responsible for leveling up the other soldiers. They planned
to sweep through the 3rd floor, and since there were also priests and explorers
besides the four of them, nothing major should happen.
The door to the
8th-floor boss room, adorned with an arabesque-like carving, seemed to be
blocking our way.
Now, how many runs
could we do today?
"Let's go!"
I declared.
"Understood!"
Gandarvan roared.
The Merfolk and their
leader, the Merfolk King, awaited us. The numbers were overwhelmingly against
us. But we could win.
"Thunder
Rain!" Anneliese chanted, reducing the number of small fry with her magic.
Even if they didn't die, they took significant damage, so I left the small fry
to Gandarvan and the others and headed for the Merfolk King.
"Going all out
from the start!" My current main job was Reincarnated Hero Lv45, and my
sub-job was Heroic Sword Master Lv35.
"Take this!
Heroic Slash!" I roared. Heroic Slash, whose proficiency had reached
(Medium), instantly reduced the Merfolk King's HP to 20%.
"Next, Flurry of
Slashes!" I commanded. Flurry of Slashes, a skill I learned at Heroic
Sword Master Lv10, dealt up to 10 consecutive slashes to an enemy. Countless
sword strikes sliced through the Merfolk King.
"Tch, only 6 hits
landed..." I muttered. It wasn't guaranteed that all 10 hits would land. I
needed to improve my swordsmanship.
The Merfolk King, its
eyes filled with rage, glared at me and counterattacked with a fist wrapped in
water.
"That's
nothing!" I countered, slicing off the Merfolk King's left arm.
I followed up the
panting Merfolk King's pain-filled gasps with another attack. Its HP was
already below 10%. If I continued like this, it would be a complete victory.
However, it wasn't going to be that easy. The Merfolk King shot water bullets from
its entire body (pores?).
It was an
area-of-effect attack that hit both allies and enemies.
"Whoa!" I
dodged the water bullets, leaving afterimages. It was good that I had put
Status Points not only into STR but also AGI. Even with the Insight skill, it
would have been difficult to dodge countless water bullets.
The water bullet
attack reached Gandarvan and the others. Everyone made pained expressions, but
the small fry Merfolk were also affected. Moreover, having already taken heavy
damage from Anneliese's Thunder Rain, many of them were now on the ground.
Normally, I would worry about Gandarvan and the others' condition, but I found
myself thinking inappropriate thoughts about what would happen to their
experience points in this situation. Only because everyone was still standing,
not collapsing, could I think such things.
"Get lost! Hero's
Return!" I shouted. Hero's Return, a skill I learned at Heroic Sword
Master Lv30, formed a searing dome around the Merfolk King. The Merfolk King
struggled within the dome, its movements gradually slowing, and then it
collapsed.
After confirming the
Merfolk King's subjugation, I shifted my gaze to everyone.
"Everyone, what's
your condition? Are there any serious injuries?" I asked.
"No problem! Lady
Anneliese healed us!" Gandarvan replied instantly.
"I see, that's
good," I murmured. To launch an area-of-effect attack that it hadn't used
before, it really deserves to be called the 8th-floor boss. At this rate, there
are probably several more attacks I haven't seen. What a hassle.
"Toi-sama. Did
something fun happen?" Anneliese asked.
"Anneliese... Did
I look like I was having fun?" I asked.
"Yes. You looked
very happy," she replied.
"Is that so... I
just realized how strong the 8th-floor boss is," I said.
"Indeed, it was
strong. Everyone except me and Toi-sama, who dodged that area-of-effect attack,
was hit. But you managed to avoid that attack so well. It looked like there
were many of you, Toi-sama," Anneliese observed.
"It was good that
I raised my AGI as much as possible. That's why I could dodge it," I
explained.
I had become fast
enough to leave afterimages. Of course, the Insight skill probably played a
part, but boosting abilities is fundamentally important.
"Alright, after a
break, we'll go for the next one!" I declared.
"Understood!"
(All of them)
This time, we
completed a total of 6 runs of the 8th-floor boss room. On the last, 6th run, a
green color variant of the Merfolk King appeared and used wind-attribute magic.
It was Level 52, 3 levels higher than the normal (blue) Merfolk King, but we
managed to defeat it without any danger.
In this 8th-floor boss
run, Anneliese, Gandarvan, Jojok, Lin, and Rosalina's levels all reached 51. My
Reincarnated Hero was Level 49, and Heroic Sword Master was Level 45.
The items obtained
were as follows:
<Merfolk
(Normal)>
·
D-rank magic stones: Guild exchange value 150,000
Grill x 360 = 108,000,000 Grill
<Merfolk (Rare)>
·
Demonic Sword (one-handed): Guild exchange value
2,000,000 Grill x 2 = 4,000,000 Grill
·
Demonic Spear: Guild exchange value 2,000,000 Grill x
1 = 2,000,000 Grill
·
Demonic Bow: Guild exchange value 3,000,000 Grill x 1
= 3,000,000 Grill
·
Magic Staff: Guild exchange value 1,200,000 Grill x 1
= 1,200,000 Grill
※ All demonic weapons are water attribute.
<Boss Merfolk
(Normal)>
·
C-rank magic stones: 300,000 Grill x 80 = 24,000,000
Grill
<Boss Merfolk
(Rare)>
·
Demonic Sword (one-handed): Guild exchange value
2,000,000 Grill x 1 = 2,000,000 Grill
·
Demonic Spear: Guild exchange value 2,000,000 Grill x
1 = 2,000,000 Grill
※ All demonic weapons are water attribute.
<Merfolk King
(Normal)>
·
Fire-attribute demonic spear (one-handed): Guild
exchange value 4,000,000 Grill x 1 = 4,000,000 Grill
·
Water-attribute demonic sword (one-handed): Guild
exchange value 4,000,000 Grill x 1 = 4,000,000 Grill
·
Water-attribute demonic spear (one-handed): Guild
exchange value 4,000,000 Grill x 1 = 4,000,000 Grill
·
Wind-attribute demonic bow (one-handed): Guild
exchange value 5,000,000 Grill x 1 = 5,000,000 Grill
·
Earth-attribute demonic axe (one-handed): Guild
exchange value 5,000,000 Grill x 1 = 5,000,000 Grill
<Merfolk King
(Green) (Normal)>
·
Wind God's Armor: Guild exchange value 6,000,000 Grill
x 1 = 6,000,000 Grill
Today's profit was
145,000,000 Grill, but I didn't sell all the weapons dropped by the Merfolk
King. Also, as we leveled up and became more accustomed to fighting, the number
of summoned Merfolk decreased with each run. Because of that, the number of
magic stones also decreased.
Still, earning over
100,000,000 Grill was profitable. This time, 6 of us conquered the 8th-floor
boss, but I think even a normal party could defeat it without problems if they
gathered enough people and challenged it. If there's one explorer, they can
loop through and earn over 100,000,000 in one day, so even if 50 people
challenged it, they'd get 2,000,000 Grill each after an equal split. That's
20,000,000 yen in Japanese currency. I think it's a profitable job.
