050 7th Floor
Exploration

Translator : PolterGlast
It was the 61st day
since my reincarnation. Today, we explored the 7th floor of the dungeon. As
soon as we entered, we used Dungeon Move to teleport to the 7th floor. We could
move instantly, but ordinary explorers would take days to travel back and
forth. It seems that if even one person has defeated a boss before, they can
shortcut through the boss room to the next floor, but even that wasn't
necessary for us.
"Whoa, the 7th
floor has lizards, huh."
Using Detailed
Appraisal, I saw they were Fire Lizards Lv24. They were about 3 meters long,
with red skin, and fire leaked from their mouths. And they had six legs.
"Rose, can you
defeat that?" I asked. It shook from side to side. It seemed impossible.
Was its level too low? "Hm, you don't like fire? I see, you're a plant,
after all." Rose was smart, being able to assert itself properly. I
wondered if it would be able to speak if it became an intermediate or advanced
spirit. And do spirits even grow? I'd try to explore the dungeon while also
verifying such things.
It would be cruel to
make Rose fight an opponent it disliked, so I'd just beat it up myself.
"Rosalina, you're
bare-handed, so be careful."
"Yes-nanodesu!"
Rosalina replied, readying her Mithril Two-Handed Sword.
"Anneliese,
launch a preemptive strike with your magic. Then Gandarvan, use your Anger
Lock. After that, just beat it up as usual. Be careful, it breathes fire."
Everyone nodded.
"Here I go. Mana
Slash." Since the Fire Lizard was fire-attribute, fire magic couldn't be
expected to be effective. With that in mind, Anneliese cast a null-attribute
Mana Slash.
Mana Slash hit the
Fire Lizard, and the enraged Fire Lizard scurried towards us using all six of
its legs. Its leg movements were interesting. Instead of moving parallel, the
front two and rear one moved in opposite directions.
The Fire Lizard opened
its mouth. A breath attack already!?
"Anger
Lock!" Gandarvan roared.
WHOOSH!
The soldiers avoided
the breath attack behind Gandarban, but one of them used his spear like a pole
vault, leaping over Gandarvan and the Fire Lizard. She was Lin, the cat
beastman. She was physically weak but agile.
Like Lin, Rosalina
also dodged the breath attack with a jump. The two of them attacked from its
vulnerable rear.
Even though Gandarvan
and the three soldiers blocked the breath with their shields, they couldn't
completely defend against it.
"Heal," I
chanted. Gandarvan's and the three soldiers' HP recovered. This was the Holy
Magic skill from my Reincarnated Hero job.
Today, my main job was
Enchanter, and my sub-job was Reincarnated Hero. I hadn't intended to raise
Reincarnated Hero, but now that I knew demons existed, I had to level up
Reincarnated Hero.
Outside, Reincarnated
Hero is nothing but a landmine, but inside the dungeon, where few people have
appraisal skills, it should be fine.
"Saint
Attack." BOOM! CRACK!
"Oh... I killed
it..." I had accumulated over 120 STP, so I put all of it into INT, and my
magic was incredibly strong.
"Master. What was
that just now?" Gandarvan asked.
"A holy-attribute
attack," I replied. It was a spell I learned with Holy Magic (Low) from my
Reincarnated Hero job.
"For Jojok and
the others' training, please hold back a little more," Gandarvan said with
a resigned look. Sorry.
If I put all my STP
into INT, my MATK would exceed 600. Gandarvan's Strong-Armored Knight has less
than 200 DEF with equipment and skills. That's truly 3 times the attack power!
Moreover, Saint Attack only costs 5 MP. What incredible fuel efficiency!

"The drop item
seems to be a fire magic stone," Anneliese observed, looking at the magic
stone Rosalina had picked up. The magic stone was red and looked
fire-attribute. Detailed Appraisal also showed it was a Fire E-rank magic
stone. Attribute magic stones are apparently traded at higher prices than
regular magic stones.
"Master. As Sir
Gandarvan just said, please truly restrain yourself," Anneliese
admonished.
"Y-yeah. I
know," I replied. Anneliese also warned me.
Next, a light blue lizard
appeared. It was an Aqua Lizard Lv24. It was dripping water from its mouth. It
wasn't drool, was it?
"Is that one
okay?" I asked Rose. Rose gestured that it was fine.
"In that case,
can you block its mouth?" I asked. Rose gestured that it could.
"Anneliese,"
I called.
"Yes. Mana
Slash," Anneliese replied, starting the battle with her magic, just like
before.
Gandarvan activated
Anger Lock. Rosalina, Jojok, Bath, Lin, and Solidia charged forward.
"Enchant:
Ice," I chanted, casting Enchant: Ice on Rosalina. Since I reset my STP,
it was normal damage. Still, with Reincarnated Hero set as my sub-job, it dealt
more damage than just Enchanter.
"Hup!"
Jojok, the Lizardman Swordsman, landed a good hit. The displeased Aqua Lizard
writhed, and its thick tail, like a log, almost hit Rosalina, but Rosalina
dodged it as if it were nothing.
"Power
Attack!" Gandarvan activated his Power Attack skill, which triples ATK,
making it powerful.
"Slash!"
(Both) Jojok and Bath, the Swordsmen, activated their skills. These also
tripled ATK.
"Triple
Thrust!" (Both) Lin and Solidia, the Lancers, activated their skills. This
tripled ATK by 3.5 times.
All skills boast high
attack power when their proficiency reaches (Medium). However, Swordsmen and
Lancers have lower ATK values than Gandarvan's Strong-Armored Knight. Even
though Gandarvan uses a Steel One-Handed Sword and the Swordsmen and Lancers
use two-handed weapons, Gandarvan's ATK is still higher. Even with ATK 3x or
3.5x multipliers, Gandarvan still deals more damage.
"Rush-nanodesu!"
Rosalina activated her skill, which adds +30 ATK and triples her attack count.
Mana Slash,"
Anneliese chanted. Her null-attribute magic delivered the finishing blow, and
the Aqua Lizard vanished.
This time, there was
no breath attack, and it ended easily. Did they not want me to attack? Was that
it? Was it a prank?
The drop item was a
Water E-rank magic stone.
Next, a green lizard
appeared. It was an Aero Lizard Lv25. It was making a wheezing sound. Asthma,
perhaps?
"Firestorm,"
Anneliese chanted, and a vortex of fire engulfed and burned the Aero Lizard.
The enraged Aero
Lizard charged fiercely.
"Anger
Lock," Gandarvan activated. Its aggro turned to Gandarvan, and the Aero
Lizard opened its mouth. Vines wrapped around its mouth, sealing it. The thorns
on the vines dug into the Aero Lizard's tough skin, looking painful.
"The breath was
prevented. Now, press the attack!" I commanded, also attacking with Saint
Attack. This time, it wasn't an instant kill like before. Just as I thought
that, the Aero Lizard suddenly stopped moving.
"What
happened?" I asked. The Aero Lizard vanished.
"It seems it was
petrified," Anneliese explained. Her words made me remember.
"The effect of
Gargoyle Buster, huh." The two Swordsmen, Jojok and Bath, were equipped
with Gargoyle Busters. It seemed that Jojok's attack had activated the
petrification.
"So, when
petrification activates, they stop moving and then disappear, huh?" I
mused.
"It seems
so," Anneliese replied.
The drop item Rosalina
picked up was a Wind E-rank magic stone. Given this trend, would earth come
next?
Yes, a Sand Lizard
Lv25 appeared. It wasn't earth, but sand. Its body was yellowish, and fine sand
trickled from its mouth. Even though it was dropping sand, there was no sand
visible in the vicinity. Was it one of the dungeon's seven mysteries?
We pounded this one
too. Rose blocked its breath attack. It was going quite smoothly. When I
thought about it, everyone except me was Lv28. It seemed the attribute lizards
weren't weak; rather, we were strong.
The drop item was, for
some reason, an Earth E-rank magic stone. Not sand, but earth. I felt a
disconnect there (laughs).
The Gargoyle Buster's
petrification didn't activate. It hadn't activated with the Fire Lizard or Aqua
Lizard either, so they might be resisting it. The Sand Lizard in particular
seems to have an attribute that would resist petrification.
We smoothly progressed
through the 7th floor. Fire Lizards were difficult for Rose, so it couldn't
block their mouths to prevent breath attacks. Instead, I either instantly
killed them with full-power Saint Attack (maxed INT) or dealt with them using
Item Box Hoi-hoi. I used Item Box Hoi-hoi for the first time in a while, and it
could indeed collect any breath attack. After that, everyone else contributed,
and we advanced without any danger.
After defeating about
20 lizards, my Treasure Hunt skill reacted. It was good that I had Explorer as
my sub-job during movement.
"Over
there," I pointed. There it was, a treasure chest. This time, there was no
hidden passage; I simply found the treasure chest normally.
I checked it with
Detailed Appraisal for the possibility of a Treasure Box Monster, but it was a
regular treasure chest. However, it did have a trap.
"There's a trap.
Wait a moment." I changed my main job to Assassin and used the Trap skill
to disarm the treasure chest's trap.
"Alright, it's
good now," I announced.
"What's inside?
I'm excited!" Rosalina exclaimed.
"Rosalina, want
to open it?" I asked.
"Is it
alright-nanodesu?" she asked.
"Yes, there's no
trap anymore, so it's fine," I replied. I let Rosalina open the treasure
chest, watching her happy expression. Her smile was a treasure to me.
"Master. There's
a book inside-nanodesu!" Rosalina exclaimed.
"A book...?"
I peered into the treasure chest, and a grimoire sat there.
"Whoa!" (All
of us exclaimed) It was lucky to find a grimoire.
The question was who
would use it. I decided to think about it carefully once we returned to the
mansion and stored it in my Item Box.
We continued,
defeating dozens more lizards, and reached the 7th-floor boss room. Of course,
we intended to defeat the boss. While resting, I checked everyone's status.
Everyone's level had increased to 31. My Enchanter reached Level 29, and my
Reincarnated Hero reached Level 26.
