[WN] Hidden Reincarnated Hero : Chapter 51

051 Job Evolution

The 7th-floor boss was a white lizard. It was larger than the previous lizards, probably about 5 meters long. It was a Light Lizard Lv35. A light lizard. Its breath attack looked like a laser. Was it a Koro Laser!?

"The plan is the same as before. Rose, I'm counting on you too," I said. Rose floated up and down in agreement.

"Alright, go!" I commanded.

"Understood!" (All soldiers)

"Yes-nanodesu!" Rosalina affirmed.

"Firestorm!" Anneliese began the battle with her magic. Each of them performed their roles.

Gandarvan used Anger Lock to fix the Light Lizard's aggro, while Rosalina and the soldiers attacked with all their might.

I also activated Saint Cross. This was an offensive spell I learned when my Holy Magic proficiency reached (Medium). A cross of light was absorbed by the Light Lizard and exploded. I was worried if a light cross attack would be effective against a light-attribute Light Lizard, but it seemed to work because it was a holy attribute.

The Light Lizard opened its mouth, performing a preparatory movement for its breath attack. Vines appeared from the empty air and wrapped around the Light Lizard's mouth, covering its entire face. The thorns of the vines pierced its fine scales, and the Light Lizard's blood dripped.

Rose had leveled up to Level 29, so the power of its vines had increased considerably.

With its mouth sealed by vines, the Light Lizard roared and thrashed its massive body, unable to breathe. In a way, it was a wide-area rampage.

Gargoyle Buster's petrification didn't activate. It either doesn't work on bosses or it's being resisted. As expected of a boss, the Light Lizard had high DEF, MDEF, and HP. It looked like we were struggling, but since Gandarvan was stable, we were fighting without much danger.

"Don't lose focus, only half its HP left!" I shouted. I managed the Light Lizard's HP and Gandarvan's HP, continually healing Gandarvan while poking at the Light Lizard with Saint Attack and Saint Cross.

Not only the front-liners, but Anneliese and I, the rear-liners, were also working hard. Anneliese's magic dealt the most damage. I was also attacking with magic, but I was also directing everyone and managing Gandarvan's HP, so my damage output wasn't that high.

"Roar, Violence Attack!" Gandarvan activated his Violence Attack skill, learned at Strong-Armored Knight Lv30. This skill increases ATK based on the damage taken. At Gandarvan's current level, if he took 15 hits, his ATK value would become higher than Power Attack's 3x ATK boost.

Jojok, Bath, Lin, and Solidia also activated their skills.

"Rush-nanodesu!" Rosalina activated her Iron Fist, Kick Attack, and Rush skills, pressing the attack.

"Just a little more!" I encouraged.

"Booster. Multiple Magic. Mana Strike. Firestorm!" Anneliese roared. Booster is a skill that doubles magic power, learned at Level 25. Multiple Magic is a skill that allows two spells to be cast simultaneously, learned at Level 30. Two spells activated simultaneously, and their power was doubled. Flashy magic enveloped the Light Lizard.

The struggling Light Lizard stood on its hind legs, then crashed down with a thud. It vanished, so it seemed we had defeated it.

"Are you injured?" I asked.

"No problem," Gandarvan replied. If they had bleeding injuries, their HP would continuously decrease. I confirmed no one was injured and thanked everyone again.

"Master! I found this!" Rosalina exclaimed.

"A spear?" I asked. It was a spear with a glowing blade tip. It might be good as a light source in the dim dungeon.

When I used Detailed Appraisal, I found out it was a Light Lance. It was a normal drop from a Light Lizard.

"Ah!?" (Both) Jojok and Lin exclaimed when they read the details of the Light Lance. I wondered what was going on, and then I saw both of them faintly glowing.

"Is this... racial evolution?" I mused. It was similar to when Rosalina evolved, but the amount of light was less.

The light quickly subsided, and their appearances hadn't changed. Come to think of it, I didn't glow when I became a High Human, and my appearance didn't change either. Do the evolution effects vary by race?

"It seems my job evolved," Jojok said in a deep voice.

"Mine seems to have evolved too!" Lin added in a high-pitched, distinctly feminine voice.

So, it wasn't racial evolution, but job evolution, huh? Let's see...

Ohh, it's true. Their jobs have evolved! Jojok evolved from Swordsman to Sword Master, and Lin evolved from Lancer to Lance Saint. Their levels carried over, and their abilities significantly increased. Their skills also increased, boosting their combat power.

I think it's easier to understand by comparing everyone's abilities.

<Jojok - Sword Master Lv32>

HP = 201

MP = 102

STR = 37

VIT = 30

AGI = 28

INT = 17

MIN = 17

DEX = 25

ATK = 111

DEF = 90

MATK = 51

MDEF = 51

<Bath - Swordsman Lv32>

HP = 159

MP = 96

STR = 28

VIT = 25

AGI = 24

INT = 16

MIN = 16

DEX = 21

ATK = 84

DEF = 75

MATK = 48

MDEF = 48

<Lin - Lance Saint Lv32>

HP = 177

MP = 105

STR = 33

VIT = 26

AGI = 30

INT = 17

MIN = 18

DEX = 25

ATK = 99

DEF = 78

MATK = 51

MDEF = 54

<Solidia - Lancer Lv32>

HP = 147

MP = 111

STR = 26

VIT = 23

AGI = 24

INT = 19

MIN = 18

DEX = 20

ATK = 78

DEF = 69

MATK = 57

MDEF = 54

These are their ability values without equipment and skills, showing such a difference, but Gandarvan has even higher abilities.

<Gandarvan - Strong-Armored Knight Lv32>

HP = 285

MP = 141

STR = 47

VIT = 48

AGI = 24

INT = 12

MIN = 35

DEX = 24

ATK = 141

DEF = 144

MATK = 36

MDEF = 105

Gandarvan evolved into a Strong-Armored Knight when his Knight level was in the teens, so his abilities are higher than Jojok's and Lin's. The mechanism of job evolution is not understood, and Detailed Appraisal doesn't explain it either.

Also, in Rosalina's case, she changed jobs from Villager to Battle Master, so her level was reset, but when a job evolves, it seems the level carries over.

During this exploration, Anneliese and Rosalina reached Level 32. My Enchanter reached Level 30, and Reincarnated Hero remained at Level 26.

It was a good time after the boss battle, so we exited the dungeon and headed to the Explorer's Guild. Bandits haven't been loitering recently, so I think the town's public safety has improved a bit.

"I'd like to exchange items for money," I said, placing the drop items on the guild counter.

The Fire, Water, Wind, and Earth E-rank magic stones were all 2,500 Grill each. 47 pieces for 1,175,000 Grill.

For rare drops, there were 2 Fire Treasure Magic Stones and 2 Wind Treasure Magic Stones, and 1 Water Treasure Magic Stone and 1 Earth Treasure Magic Stone each. Each Treasure Magic Stone was 250,000 Grill, totaling 1,500,000 Grill.

The grand total was 2,675,000 Grill.

I kept the Light Lance that dropped from the boss Light Lizard without selling it, as I intended to use it.

To think I could earn the equivalent of 26,750,000 yen in one day. Even if split equally among 8 people, that's over 3,340,000 yen. The 7th floor is a lucrative hunting ground. Moreover, magic stones and treasure magic stones aren't very large, making them easy to carry.

I just realized that I hadn't distributed the earnings to everyone so far. I tried to distribute it equally to everyone, but Anneliese stopped me.

"Master's idea is wonderful, but Sir Gandarvan and everyone else are under contract for a monthly salary. It's enough to merely increase their hazard pay when entering the dungeon." I was gently admonished that equal distribution was not appropriate. This was because Gandarvan and the others were subordinates, not comrades.

So, it was decided that Gandarvan would receive 5%, and the soldiers 3%, as hazard pay.

"Is 3% enough for Anneliese and Rosalina too?" I asked.

"No one gives slaves wages," Anneliese replied.

"I-I see..." I was firmly rejected. Anneliese usually supports me with a smile, but she's strict about these things.

"Then, this is just pocket money," I said.

"...Thank you for your kindness, Master," Anneliese replied.

"Thank you-nanodesu!" Rosalina chimed in. I felt uncomfortable taking over 80% of the income. I wanted to distribute it a bit more.

Now, the magic stones have a dull color representing their attribute, but the treasure magic stones are as beautifully colored as jewels. It seems the wealthy actually use them as jewels, and their prices were accordingly high.

The magic stones are about the size of a fingertip, and the treasure magic stones are about the size of a pinky finger's tip. Yet, the magic power they contain is apparently vastly different, with the treasure magic stones holding much more.

They're beautiful, so I might even make one into a ring and give it to Anneliese. I'm sure Anneliese would look good with any color of treasure magic stone.
