I set the newly
acquired jobs as my sub-jobs to level them up.
Fortunately, both
Lightning-Fast Hero and Gratitude Saint are jobs that can gain experience
through combat.
I spent my days
hunting Orichalcum Golems.
I defeated Orichalcum
Golems hundreds of times over the course of a month.
I now have so many
diamonds that their market value would plummet if I released them all at once.
I decided to store them in a treasure vault (which I don't have right now).
Of course, I sold some
to Golteo. This fulfilled my obligation to him, and he was very pleased.
A lot happened while
we were looping the Orichalcum Golem boss room.
First, the final
interviews for the military official candidates.
The jobs of the 13
candidates weren't particularly great. They were all common jobs like
Swordsman, Spearman, Archer, and Knight, and their appeals lacked originality.
So, I asked the 13 of them a question.
"Are you willing
to change to a support job?"
Support jobs are jobs
like Explorer or Transporter. For me, even a Priest or Merchant would be fine.
In this world, civil
officials are more valuable than military officials. A merchant is a job that
can become a civil official and has other uses. I'd welcome a change to any
other civil official type of job.
"I am a warrior!
I cannot do such a thing!"
I sent those who said
such things home. I decided to hire the remaining four on the premise that they
would change jobs.
I also hired four
civil officials. I hired them after telling them their post would be in
Triange, and they all agreed except for one.
I mean, if you didn't
want to go to Triange, why did you come to me? Don't you understand that an
interview alone consumes my valuable time?
Also, Lilith's
Saintess job reached Level 35.
The proficiency of her
Prayer and Healing skills is now "Medium," so Laura's asthma has been
completely cured.
"Now I can work
without any worries!"
"No, let's start
slowly. We can't have you overdoing it and getting sick again."
"Just as the lord
says, Mother!"
"You can start by
moving around little by little and prioritizing building up your physical
strength for a while."
"Thank you. But I
feel bad for being so much trouble to you, my lord. Please let me be of use to
you."
"Please take it
easy."
Seriously. I'm asking
you, please don't get sick again.
That said, it's a
great help that Laura is willing to work.
Her job is Noble Lady.
It's a job that makes her sociable and knowledgeable about politics.
A noble who puts in
effort from a young age can change to the Noble job. Women can also change to
the Noble job. However, women can also change to the Noble Lady job, which is
exclusive to them. The Noble Lady job has political abilities similar to the Noble
job.
By the way, Laura can
change to jobs like Noble and Administrator, in addition to Noble Lady. She's a
great talent to have.
"And I have a
request for you, Lilith."
"What is
it?"
"I want you to
educate the children."
"Me?"
Her expression seemed
to say that there were more suitable people for the job. However, Lilith's
Saintess job levels up by taking care of children. There's a benefit to that
alone, but she can also heal injured or sick children. After a comprehensive
assessment, I decided to ask Lilith.
"Instead of
common jobs like Swordsman or Spearman, I want you to raise retainers with a
wide variety of unusual jobs."
Even if we raise
common jobs like Swordsman or Spearman, they would just follow the same path as
other soldiers and explorers.
We could just poach
people who are already explorers, so when we raise our own, I want to guide
them towards having rare jobs.
When I didn't have a
territory, taking care of orphans was just for my own satisfaction. Now that I
have a territory, it's also for securing personnel.
Good people like
Lilith and her mother, Laura, aren't acquired overnight.
With my Detailed
Appraisal, I can discover better personnel than others. Still, the chances of
meeting them are quite low. Whether it's civil or military officials, we need
to raise them ourselves.
"I understand. I
don't know how far I can go, but I'll do my best."
"I'm counting on
you."
Lilith's Saintess job
can use the Appraisal skill. While it's not as good as my Detailed Appraisal,
it can discern a person's abilities. She can also use the Job Change skill to
see a person's available jobs.
I think she's the
right person to raise people, especially if I provide her with information on
job change conditions.

I spent my days
working as a noble and leveling up in the Royal Capital Dungeon.
Thanks to that,
Lightning-Fast Hero reached Level 75, and Gratitude Saint reached Level 65. My
Heroic Sword King also reached Level 76.
The Lightning-Fast
Hero job has a very clean skill set. Even now at Level 75, it only has six
skills.
The six skills are:
Idaten, Slow, Area Speed, Divine Speed, Ground Shrink, and Speed Steal.
The Divine Speed skill
is also a skill of the Assassin, but the effect is better with the
Lightning-Fast Hero.
When I set Lightning-Fast
Hero as my main job and Assassin as my sub-job, the effects of the Divine Speed
skill stack, and the result is incredible.
Just for me, the
Orichalcum Golem looked like it was standing still.
Also, the effect of
the Speed Steal skill, which has "Medium" proficiency, is outrageous.
With each attack, the
target's AGI is reduced by 15 percent. This means that after seven attacks, the
target's AGI becomes zero.
My attack power is not
that great, but even slimes became as easy and safe to defeat as a baby. It's
just a cheat.
I leveled up Gratitude
Saint because I thought it would be useful at some point.
Up until now, potions
and Anneliese's magic were the main source of healing, but that tends to
increase Anneliese's hostility.
Gandarvan, who takes
the most damage, has a skill to heal his own HP, but I wanted to reduce Anneliese's
burden.
I don't know what
could happen in a battle with slimes, so it's not a bad idea to be prepared.
The preparations are
complete. Wait for me, slimes!
My main job is Heroic
Sword King, and my sub-job is Lightning-Fast Hero.
The 10th floor is a
field of grasslands, lakes, ponds, rivers, and swamps. There are many bodies of
water, making it a bit difficult to walk. This is also one of the reasons it's
hard to deal with the fast slimes.
"I can see
them!"
The slimes' movements
felt slower than before.
I believe it's the
synergistic effect of the Idaten and Divine Speed skills.
"Slow!"
The slimes' movements
felt considerably slower.
"I can see them
too! Anger Lock!"
With the effect of the
Idaten skill, Gandarvan's speed doubled. Furthermore, the effect of Slow
stretched the slimes' time by 150 percent, allowing Gandarvan to clearly
perceive their movements.
All six skills of my
Lightning-Fast Hero have "High" proficiency. Their effects are
remarkable.
In this case, I guess
there's no need to use the Area Speed skill.
"Lock on!"
Barth's Magic Poison
Bow fired a poisoned arrow. They don't seem to have poison resistance, as the
area where the arrow struck turned purple and began to fester.
"Hee-yah!"
Lin's Cyclone Lance.
It's a wind-attribute attack, and the slime's HP dropped significantly.
"Hah!"
Jojok's Dragon-Slaying
Slash. This attack ignores defense and penetrates the Physical Attack
Nullification skill to deal damage.
"Shield
Attack!"
Gandarvan's Shield
Attack has a knockback effect and easily raises aggro.
"Attack!"
Rosalina's Arc Cannon.
It's a ki-based attack, neither physical nor magical. It's an extremely rare
form of attack.
"Aaaaaah!"
Solidia's summoned
Lich drained the slime's HP.
"Thunder!"
Anneliese's lightning
magic pierced the slime.
The slime could no
longer hold its shape, spread out on the ground, and vanished.
"This feels
good."
"We could
probably manage without Slow, but it would be more stable with it."
"Let's start with
Slow and get used to their speed without it as we level up."
I should prioritize
safety and take a safe margin as we proceed.
"My lord. It's a
drop item."
It's an S-rank magic
stone. The same as the Orichalcum Golem.
The slimes unleash
projectile attacks corresponding to their attributes. Red slimes use a
flamethrower, and blue slimes spray acid.
Gandarvan is wearing
the Gormodia armor dropped by the Orichalcum Golem, and it won't melt from
acid. Still, he takes some damage.
Yamato had also
crafted a magic armament shield from Gormodia. All of us who wear metal armor,
including me, are wearing Gormodia armor, so the damage is considerably
reduced.
Best of all, we're a
group in all-black gear. Doesn't that look cool? It really tickles my
middle-school-syndrome fancy.

The exploration of the
10th floor took a long time.
But my goal wasn't to
conquer the 10th floor; it was to defeat 1,000 monsters.
Including the time
spent searching for monsters, we hunted about 30 a day. While doing that, the
season changed from winter to spring.
We spent about two
months hunting slimes like crazy.
We discovered the boss
room but haven't challenged it yet. Defeating 1,000 slimes is our priority.
There were also
treasure chests, and we got a grimoire.
The slime hunting was progressing
well.
